Description Chapter 8
May
Part 2

May, along with her new friend, Kalki, were on their way to P.E. class. On the way there, they met up with Kay and they talked for a while. Kay and May were long-time friends; they knew each other since elementary school. When Kay's parents died, May took Kay in and lived with her for a few years, until Kay moved out on her own. May wished for Kay to live with her, but Kay didn't want to feel like a burden.

In the locker room, May asked Kalki, "So, what are your parents like?"

"..."

Kalki stood there silently.

"Touchy subject?" May asked.

"Yeah, kinda," Kalki said, quietly.

"If you tell me, you'll feel better," May insisted.

"...You're right," Kalki said, "Besides, I trust you. Please don't tell anyone else,"

"I won't tell a soul," May said, "And the girls near us are already finished getting dressed, so you shouldn't worry about anyone overhearing,"

"Alright," Kalki said, nervously, "When I was little, my dad went away. No one knew what happened to him and I was too young to understand it, at the time, I could only assume it was a divorce or something like that. It was just me, my mom, and my sister for a while and things seemed to be going fine, as far as I could tell, but, when I turned eleven, that's when things went bad. My mom started acting weird, I could only assume that she was upset from dad leaving, but that was at least 10 years ago. I was wondering why this late? At this point, my sister moved out. Despite that she was only in high school, she had found herself a good-paying part-time job and had found somewhere to live. It was a building a few miles away from our house called a living complex. It was where people could live for free if they have financial troubles. The people in charge of it listened to my sister’s plea and let her leave there. She wanted me to live there with her, but I still wanted to live with my mom. She was devastated when she heard about my sister moving out, but I tried to cheer her up with all I could do but, a few months later, something horrible happened. I woke up on a rainy December morning and saw someone on the floor.

It was Mom, lying on the floor in a puddle of her own blood.

And, on my chest, was a heart in blood drawn on my chest and “I Love U” written in blood on the wall.

I freaked out and called 911. An ambulance came by to help her, but she was pronounced dead on the spot. They took her away as I fell to the floor, crying uncontrollably. After I was able to talk again, I called my sister and told her what happened and asked to live with her,”

Kalki stood there, beginning to cry. May said, “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have brought it up,”

“It’s ok,” Kalki said, wiping away her tears, “It really did feel better, now that I let it out,"

May hugged her and said, "Don't worry, I'm here for you, but we should probably go to P.E. class now,"

"You're right," Kalki said, as the two of them walked out. The door of the locker room was closed tight and locked. "Uhhh,...I think they forgot we we're in here," Kalki said.
"Yep, we're locked in," said May, "Well, all we can do is wait until class is over and we can explain to them what happened,"
"Ok," Kalki said, "At least it's nice to have a little peace and quiet in here. Well, if we're not gonna be going to P.E. class, I'm gonna get changed into my regular outfit,"
"I'll do the same," May said. As the two of them we're getting dressed, Kalki asked May,
"So, what kind of guy are you looking for?"

"What do you mean?" May said, confused.

"Well," Kalki began to explain, "I heard that all the guys that have ever asked you out we're turned down, so I was wondering what kind of a guy are you looking for," While Kalki was about to put on her school uniform, May hugged her and said,

"Oh, I'm not looking for a guy,"

Less than an hour later, the locker room doors were opened as Kalki and May walked out, in their uniforms, and explained to the teacher what happened. Since it was just a mistake, they didn't get in any trouble for it. Kalki began walking home and saw Owen, who asked, "So, did you find out?"

"Yep," Kalki said, smiling.

"Good,"Owen said, with a lustful grin, "Tell me what kind of guy is she looking for?"

"A girl," Kalki said.

"What?" Owen said, confused.

"She's a lesbian," Kalki said, walking away.

Owen stood there, silently, as the sun sat behind him.
