✖ P E R S O N A L I T Y:
Strong-willed | Sarcastic | Loyal | Passionate | Hotheaded }
There is no denying that Tallara's hotheadedness and strong will are her two most defining characteristics. Her spirit is nigh-unbreakable, and her ability to set a goal and achieve it is immensely advantageous for an independent individual like herself. However, this does make her a bit of a challenge to work with in a group setting. Despite this, she will make an undying effort to cooperate if lives are on the line and even begin barking orders, being more willing to give them than follow them. This is partially due to her distrust of other people's judgement, but it's mostly because she isn't used to being bossed around. She has definitely improved from the past, though. In the beginning of the apocalypse, Tallara was rude and completely against working with anyone unless it benefited her in some way. After joining in with a group she felt connected with, however, she learned the vital importance of cooperation and teamwork and has since improved upon these skills. Depending on whom she's working with, she might even enjoy it.

Despite being feisty and aggressive, Tallara is doggedly loyal to those she trusts and will passionately follow them and defend them with her life. It might be difficult to get to this level of affinity with her unless your first impression leaves her with a strong sense of chemistry and interest, though. First impressions are a huge part of her perspectives towards people; those who make a poor one are bound to have a more difficult time proving their worth to her than those who made a good mark upon their first meeting. While she might forgive, she will never forget.

She also never falls short of sarcastic, witty comments that might either lighten the mood or infuriate someone. Whether these are intentional or simply made out of habit is completely versatile and up to interpretation; asking her if she's being serious at all will get you a scoff and another back-handed comment. This is nothing personal of course, in fact, she might find someone's obliviousness to her sarcasm amusing or endearing depending on the individual. Most of the time, though, she'll roll her eyes.

▬  Character Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.

▬  Strengths
        ○ Working alone.
        ○ High tolerance for pain.
        ○ Using bows, be it compound or traditional. She's very good at adapting.

▬  Weaknesses
        ○ Tight grudge-keeper.
        ○ Heavily impacted by severed emotional attachments (i.e. death, betrayal, etc).
        ○ Can't operate a gun very effectively. Getting into position and pulling a trigger is easy... everything else, not so much.

▬  Quirks
        ○ Taps her fingers or whatever she's holding in her hands against her chin or cheek when amused, thoughtful, or anxious.
        ○ Runs with a skip in her step during combat.
        ○ Acts quite cheery in combat situations (in fact, she's cheery almost all the time). It makes her look crazy, but it's an effective coping mechanism.
        ○ Hums to herself when she's alone.
        ○ Always keeps her right sleeve rolled up.

▬  Hobbies:
        ○ Hunting and hiking. She would often go bowhunting with her dad before the apocalypse.
        ○ Singing. She took musical theatre when she was in high-school and is actually a huge fan of classic musicals. Except Oklahoma!... fuck Oklahoma!.
        ○ Free-running. She wasn't the most lawful kid, and her athletic skills still hold up to this day.
        ○ Tea-making. She would often explore teas with her dad, especially when she was little.

▬  Skills:
        ○ Very skilled with a compound bow due to her tradition of hunting with her dad since she was 10. She tried guns, but they didn't work for her.
        ○ Lock-picking. She was a bit of a trouble maker around town and in school, but once she got caught she restricted this to pulling pranks on friends and family only.
        ○ Keen to details. Because she's a hunter, she's got an eye for small details and movement in cluttered environments.
        ○ Medical knowledge she acquired from a survivor friend named Luna.

▬ BEFORE OUTBREAK

Tallara was almost entirely raised by her father, Aiden, and she remembers very little of her mother, Sarah. From what she's been told, her parents got a divorce when she was still a baby due to her mother's instability. She would get into frequent arguments with Aiden, and would sometimes break things. It was a difficult feat, but eventually Aidenand Sarah agreed that she needed to seek out medical treatment for her own safety and the safety of others. After filing a divorce, the two agreed that it would be best if Sarah had no influence in Tallara’s life, and that they cut all ties with one another. Tallara never bothered to ask her father for details pertaining to her mother’s condition; she viewed it as an unnecessary burden she didn’t want to carry. Instead, she decided to live in the moment and cherish what she had: A strong, devoted father who introduced her to many hobbies she still carries with her today. They would often go hiking or even camping, and hunting was an occasional activity she found a great affinity towards. She would often times ask him about the teas he would buy, and thus acquired a taste for a variety of different teas.

Her high-school years were the most eventful of her education. While theatre itself was eventful, she often got herself into trouble by trespassing, free-running, and picking school locks as an enjoyable pass-time that filled her with a rush. She would have continued to participate in these less-than-lawful activities had the school department not threatened to remove her from the spring musical. It was then that she strictly kept to lockpicking purely for pranks on her friends and family... although, even then it wasn't taken too lightly. Strangely, though, her father subtly encouraged this skill, supposedly because it amused him to see what kinds of locks she could successfully pick. He would simply leave a locked item on the dining room table for Tallara to find and see if it was unlocked the following day. It was very satisfying for Tallara to succeed with more difficult locks, but the most satisfying thing for her was her father’s innocent comments about how things have been unlocking themselves around the house.

Tallara didn't go to college until she was 20 due to not knowing what she wanted to do. She loved acting, but she wasn't certain if that was a career she wanted to pursue. Eventually she found great interest in mechanics and engineering and pursued this until the day of the outbreak.

While she was on a break with a group of her college friends, Tallara went on a camping trip instead of doing the usual ‘Halloween party schtick.’ It was at this cabin camp that they realized they’d lost connection with people outside the area, and the kids who had data on their phones mentioned the news reporting on a halloween prank gone wrong. None of the teenagers took it too seriously at first, at least until military airships became too frequent for comfort. But then these aircrafts stopped stopped coming, and there was a silent terror that enveloped everyone in the camp. Half of the college kids took their cars and headed home, and those who stayed tried coming up with a plan. Tallara was never much of a fan of the Walking Dead, but her life playing video games and having watched the first season of the show did cue her in on the shit they were about to fall into. While her friends worked on fortifications, Tallara busied herself with collecting supplies in case she needed to get out fast. When a horde finally emerged from the woods, the plan went out the window. Tallara grabbed bow and bag and immediately fled the area when things got bad, witnessing first-hand the terrible helplessness of watching her friends scream as their cabins were broken into and being unable to do anything about it.

▬ POST-OUTBREAK

In the past, Tallara was flighty and often times quite deceitful in order get what she wanted from naive survivors she came across to prevent her from forming any close bonds with people. While her manipulative behavior wasn't her true nature, she saw it as a necessity to prevent further heart-break after losing many friends within the first week. She feared that if she stuck around too long that she would risk getting attached, and she forced herself to swallow the belief that everyone she met was going to die. It was a painful pill to take, and while she might have appeared to enjoy her little schemes, she didn't depart without guilt.

One day she encountered a group of survivors in a town that got bombed by the military. They were richly stocked and heavily armed, but they were also quite friendly towards her despite her apparently ‘crazy’ introduction. They were passing through on a train they must have gotten working. While she initially planned to 'hit and run' like she had done so many times before, there was something about this group that kept her anchored- particularly a young woman named Luna whom she found particularly interesting. This small group grew, and with it did her affinity towards them. Sure, some of the members got on her nerves at times, but she appreciated their company nonetheless. She found some amusement in a young teenager’s scoldings towards her erratic behavior and usually completely disregarded his surprising wisdom until she was forced to acknowledge it first-hand. In such cases, she burst and attempted to defend herself, even if she wasn’t that successful in justifying her actions.

She went through a lot with this group of survivors, including a run-in with cannibals, several zombie hordes, and bandit attacks. Travelling with this group of survivors helped Tallara realize what she'd been missing all because of a fear she'd convinced herself to be an inevitability.

Eventually the 'caravan' branched off into groups due to the party becoming too large to sustain. Tallara led a select few of trusted individuals to help her find her father in Durango. However, tragedy struck when they got separated in an incredibly harsh storm. They had been forced to abandon the vehicle they obtained, and the journey on foot was too treacherous to continue. Tallara spent weeks searching for them with no luck, and she was eventually forced to come to a dreaded realization: she'd never see her friends again. After she found shelter in an abandoned motor home, for the first time since the beginning of the apocalypse, Tallara felt genuine terror and dread. While she held the fiery hope that they were still out there somewhere, heartbreak settled in. The only thing that kept her moving was her goal to find her father; giving up on that would be the final straw for her.

It was months before she reached her destination. Alone, broken, and injured from a fall from a fire escape, she was reunited with her father, Aiden. It was there that her father reignited her spirit and restored her will to keep moving forward. After remaining with him for several weeks, her father encouraged her to find a group again and help them. He wanted her to make a home for herself instead of wandering aimlessly, nor relying on his company to keep her sane. Her father practically shoved her bag full of food storage and ammunition for her bow before sending her on her way.

It was on her journey that she received word of a recently developed place called 'The Ranch' in the Copperhead Creek area. She heard promising things about this blooming civilization, and she made it her new goal to join them and find a new adventure. It was quite the long journey, but Tallara eventually arrived and began her search for these 'Ranchers' fellow wanderers had told her about.

✖ COMPANIONS
 Name: Duty ( Adopted from Flamestorm11 )
Breed: American Quarter Horse
Sex: Gelding
Age: 7 years
    ○ Personality: Stupidly courageous and quick to cue due to being raised as a racing horse, Duty lives up to his name. He's capable of getting done what needs done without complaints, although he is shy to letting strangers on his back and will take some reassurance before he's comfortable with you. He's sturdy and incredibly difficult to spook, and while he's usually quite docile and friendly, he will behave aggressively towards threats rather than trying to flee. He loves long rides at high speeds and may be difficult to slow down once you get him started.
    ○ History: After a few riding lessons on the Ranch's horses, Tallara decided that she wanted to learn with a horse of her own and asked Blaise to accompany her on her small journey to town. She'd heard of a sleazy guy who sold horses and decided to trade off what was in her backpack from her travels to him. Duty immediately caught her eye. Kyln drove a hard bargain, though, so Tallara eventually just handed over everything in the bag due to not being in the mood to negotiate back and forth.
