Marqueis groaned. "Natalee, please put me down. This is so embarrassing."
Natalee laughed. "Oh come on, Marqueis. It's not every day I get to hold a little guy like you in my arms."
Marqueis scowled. "I'm not little, I'm just... vertically challenged."
Natalee smirked. "Vertically challenged, huh? I like that. It's a fancy way of saying you're short."
Marqueis rolled his eyes. "I know I'm short, Natalee. You don't have to rub it in."
Natalee chuckled. "I'm not rubbing it in, silly. I think it's cute. And you know what they say about guys who are on the shorter side..."

Natalee leaned in closer, her lips grazing his ear. "That they're good at... climbing."
Marqueis blushed furiously. "Natalee, stop it!"
Natalee giggled. "Okay, okay. I'll put you down now. But just know that I think you're adorable, no matter how tall you are."
Marqueis smiled, feeling a little more confident than before. Maybe being short wasn't such a bad thing after all, especially if it meant getting attention from someone as amazing as Natalee.
