The black footed cat picked up another voice yelling out in their direction. He looked up briefly. Was that Zale? Hopefully his young apprentice was safe. Saturn would hate to see anything bad happen to that sweet girl. The cat in front of him yelled again but this time not to him.  She seemed to be yelling that someone needed help. Before he could mumble anything about leaving him there for the moment and helping him later she was apologising. Saturn briefly wondered why till he felt teeth of his scruff. Next thing he knew he was swinging from her jaws. He instinctively curled up to keep most of his body out of the water. No doubt he looked like a cub being carried like this. His face burned with embarrassment and he mumbled under his breath. "This r..reminds.. m...me of the t...time I was mistaken f...for a gopher by a f...fire empire cat." He said with a small chuckle at the odd memory and his talk with young Flynn.

The water was cold, really cold, it hadn't occurred to Nadav until she had to struggle in the dark murky waters. Feeling her grip on Freya loosen as her sibling slipped out, she panicked. Freya! She opened her eye's ignoring the stinging of the dirty water, then she saw Freya swimming towards the surface, the light which was quickly fading behind the eclipse. Nadav pushed up with her hind legs, using her front legs to pull the water under her in a less-than-graceful swimming technique. It worked though, breaking the surface she gasped for air, coughing up some water. She swam towards Freya, "Freya! "

Ambriel charged through the water, using her broad chest to break through the rushing brown water. She was looking around for someone who may need her help when suddenly everything began to go dark. Ambriel's heart stopped for a moment with pale green eyes wide as she lifted her muzzle to the sky, gaping. Where is the light going? She couldn't see through the trees, and even if she could the sky was overcast. There would be no way to see what was going on above the thick gray cover of darkening clouds.

"Amber!" Ambriel was snapped out of her shock and confusion by the voice of her sister. She looked over at Anane, her ears cupping forward urgently. Anane was with Saturn. She almost headed toward them right away at the sight of Saturn in such a state, assuming immediately that Anane was calling for her help. Until the liguar went on, her blue eyes shining in the gathering dimness as she cried out, "They need help!!" Ambriel turned her broad head, her green eyes wide and searching. Who??

That was when she caught sight of something in a tide of murky water a little ways away. The gray-brown and black for unmistakable. Nadav! And was that Freya's pale blonde head struggling nearby? Ambriel switched directions immediately, wading her way toward them. The water got deeper as she approached, and she had to move slower or else risk losing her footing and being swept away herself. She looked around frantically as she got closer, anxious that she wasn't strong enough to help both. That's when she saw Zale, who was even closer to them than she was. Perfect! Being part tiger and part cheetah, the Gladiator was much larger and taller than even she was! Relief swept over her at the very sight of him. "Zale, I'm coming to help!" Ambriel cried outloud so Zale would know that he had backup. She picked up the pace as the world around them continued to darken. I can't risk losing sight of them! She thought desperately as she surged forward, now basically leaping through the water and making quite a bit of splashing as she powered through the rushing water, her claws fully extended to savagely grip the sodden ground at each step. Zale would still reach them first, and so Ambriel watched him as she approached, planning to aim for helping whichever of the two she-cats he didn't grab for first.

Getting to the stranded cat was harder than she thought it would be, she kept hitting her legs against submerged sticks and rocks which she couldnt see. But she finally made it to the cat, Saturn was it? to be greeted by what looked like a grimace.. he wasn't in a good way.. shaking from the cold and hanging limply. "I'm here its going to be okay, Yeah I've got him" She tried to speak calming as she tried to position her self to pick him up while not dislodging the stick he was hanging to and respond to the gladiator Zale... She was nearly ready, just needed to decide if it was better to get him on her back or to carry him in her jaws.. he didnt look strong enough to climb up.. Jaws it was. But before she could reach down she spotted Zale trying to get to two very submerged cats, was the Freya and Nadav?! "Amber! They need help!!" Her sister was surely close by! Her friend needed her! She couldnt think about that now she needed to get Saturn to safety. "Im sorry about this" She mumbled as she went to pick him up by the scruff.. Not very dignified but it was the best she could do...

As the water levels rose and a decent sized wave struck the trio. Freya was barely able to let out a squeak of surprise, feeling her scruff grabbed, before being submerged. Saturn disappeared in the muddy water. Nadav flailed to reach the surface, and Freya floundered for something to grab ahold of and climb up, her lungs burning. 

Her claws scrabbled against the still somewhat firm ground, though slick from the weather as she and Nadav tumbled through the water, bumping into things as they went. Freya's feet finally landed on the ground and she pushed her head up, hoping it was toward the surface. She gasped for air as her head broke the surface. Disoriented, she grasped for Nadav.

Zale dragged himself through the ever pooling water and mud, hastening back towards camp. He didn't know much about the dangers of storms on land, but he knew all too well how dangerous they could be at sea and the churning water building up and cascading down towards the lowlands of Shadow's camp made the lanky hybrid anxious. He had only been out hunting and having seen Freya napping earlier hadn't wanted to disturb her. Now however he wished he had as he once again had to yank a sunken paw out of the mud with a dull sucking noise. The sky seemed to be darkening as he came within sight of camp although it was midday, but Zale didn't bother to look up. The camp- or rather what was left of it had been reduced to mud and debris churning in the midst of what was once their home, the water had grown quite deep..

The Gladiator's first thoughts were to search for his apprentice as he raced clumsily down towards the rising waters. He knew he should take off his armor, but the urgency of the situation left him without much time to do so therefore he did his best to shake or slip out of his armor as he moved, managing to dislodge it somewhat. He hated to risk loosing Eleka's fine handy work, but his priorities rested elsewhere as the muddy water collided with his chest and the underweight feline struggled to keep his balance against the current searching desperately for his apprentice or anyone else. "Freya!!" 

Who Zale did see was Saturn. "Saturn?!" The smaller cat looked in poor shape hanging limply in the crook of a tree not far away. The tall hybrid began to make his way towards the tree, but saw that another large feline was doing the same. "Lass! You go him?" he called to her, bringing himself to an unbalanced stop. He tuned to spot most of the members of his empire quickly gathering on a hill nearby, but he didn't see fray nor many of her siblings in their midst. Zale struggled to fight his way through the water. The hybrid was a strong swimmer by practice, but his armor weighed him down and he had already expended much energy getting here. It was then that he thought he felt something bump him under the water. He took a deep breathing, sucking in as much air as he could before pulling his head under the surface. Squinting under the murky water, the thought he could make out a brown form, struggling against the tide, holding onto another. Was that Nadav... and Freya?! Not wasting any time, Zale went after them.

Nadav turned to speak to the black-footed cat, opening her mouth only for the words to get caught in her throat as the wall's crashed down and water, mud, dirt, and branches rushed at them like a terrifying mass of an unknown monster rising from the depths of the earth. She hated to admit it later, but her first thought went to Freya not Saturn, she would feel guilty about this later. As the Clouded Puma made a jump for Freya, despite being younger Nadav was taller, grabbing Freya's scruff in her jaws just as the water slammed into her side knocking her down. She tried to hold onto Freya thrashing and kicking for the surface but her mind whirled as she fought this mud-monster on every side reaching for the surface....

(Freya can either break to the surface with Nadav or Nadav can lose her grip and/or miss, it's up to you Fire I didn't want to control Freya ! )

Normally, Philos would've been within the confides of the Camp, working on some sort of armor. However, today he was out searching for any decent materials; the heavy rains made his search, and trek for that matter, pretty lackluster and empty.  A waterlogged Clouded Leopard made his way back towards camp, head held high as he'd try to catch some falling raindrops. He adored water, yes, but this downpour was making his job hard. Maybe the rain would bring fish to the camp! How fun would it be to catch fish just outside of his den? Aha! The thought made the Blacksmith grin from ear to ear.

Unfortunately, with the waters rising to the point it was nearly sweeping him off of his paws and the occasional waves threatening to engulf him; Philos had to recklessly scramble up a seeming sturdy, wide tree that was awkwardly standing against the waves. It seemed that the closer he tried to get closer to camp; the worse the waters got. It was... pretty worrying at this point. How was his friends and family back at camp? Sara did have some cubs recently, too. He never taught them how to swim or fish yet! They were going to miss out on such of an amazing experience!

Things had seemed to slow and reality dull as Saturn hung from those branches watching the water pass below him with half lidded eyes. His body was ice cold just like the water below. His paws shook and he couldn't feel his back legs which were still hanging in the water. The black footed cat almost didn't hear the voice yelling. It seemed oddly muffled. But still he lifted his head and saw a figure wading through the water to him.His mind slowly processed the words she was speaking. She was coming to rescue him. That was good. No matter how stubborn he was or embarrassing it might be to him to even need rescue, Saturn wasn't about to refuse right now. Although his mind drifted to his newest friend Catori. Did she need to be rescued? He'd promised that he'd look for her if anything bad happened. His mind came back to the present when the other cat arrived. Saturn smiled at her, or at least tried. It probably looked more like a grimace. 

"So... y...you're...h..here...t...to...help...little...ol'...m...me?"

The thought of loosing her babies... no she couldn't think about that now. It was time for action. But just as she picked up Jay she heard Nebula call to her. Where were Jo and Neil? She racked her brain as she started to move towards the hill where cats were starting to gather. She needed to get her son to safety.. One foot infront of the other. She had nearly reached it when a loud crashing caused her to pause. Even louder rushing now, a wave bashed into her side, by the sounds of it it hit Luna too. Sara managed ot keep her balance but the noise caused her to loose her sense of direction. She couldn't sense anything. Just as she started to panic a comforting smell greeted her. Anane was here to help. Both her and Amber were larger than her now, her presence lessened the flow of water against her legs and she helped direct her to safety.  As she reached safety the thought of her mate passed through her mind. Where was he? It was usually him that guided her through situations like this?? As she placed the shivering Jay down on the moderately dry ground it hit her. He and Drake had taken Jo and Neil out for a walk! That was why she hadn't seen them since early morning. Now her mouth was empty she could finally put Nebula's mind to rest! "Nebula! Sei and Drake took them out to the silvered woods for a walk! They'll be safe there! As she finished her call her two other cubs arrived, Both seemed slightly soggy but not too worse for wear, she still instinctively moved to stand over her children. But before she could relax one of her eldest moved to go back in to the water "Amber please be careful!" She knew that the girl needed it help others but she still worried...

((I hope this isn't godmodding Ripple I just thought it would be good to put Neb's mind at rest because ei bet she's just wanting to run back in. Plus it explains were their mates are : P ))

A calm albeit wet day had become a manic scramble for safety. Her first thought had been to find Amber and make sure she was okay but her capable sister was already not only saving herself but their younger sister.. She just always had to be so sensible.. She too decided it would be a good idea to check the nursery too, but by the time she got there it seemed everyone else had already scooped up the little brats.. Before she could figure out what to do next somehting caught her attention. Sara seemed to be struggling, without thinking she quickly made her way through the water to her, laying her tail gently on the backs of her legs and guiding her to the hill. They didnt need to talk about it no, they both knew what needed to be done and how to do it. Getting Jay to safety was all that mattered. Once they reached the hillock they paused. She moved to allow more cats onto the hill but was careful to make sure she was still close to her adopted mum. When Luna shouted for cats to go back in she moved to go join her sister but thought second of it as she realized that would leave Sara alone with the cubs. No she would stay. As she made that decision though something caught her attention. Was that a cat clinging to that branch?! "Hold on i'll get you!" She dived into the water, her long legs letting her wade through towards the cat that was stranded out side of camp but not too far. This was her time to prove she should be trusted. She could help people too!

"Eeepp?! As Amber carried her through the water it splashed up at her, cold water bit at her tail and threatened to overwhelm them.. But they arrived at the hill safely, Amber placed her down next to her brothers and mum, she immediatly went to comfort her little brother who she knew would be suffering the most. He seemed to have retreated inside himself and was shivering uncontrollably. At least mum was here to keep them safe...

Saturn was just about to yell at the other two cats with him to hurry up, when the camp walls completely collapsed with a crash. Time seemed to slow and Saturn stared at the wall of muddy water coming toward him. The water hit him and swept him away under the current. His paws scrambled for purchase under the water as the ground rushed past him. His eyes were closed and when he tried to open them all he felt was mud and dirt get in his eyes, so he closed them again preferring the total darkness to the murky water. His lungs screamed at him to find the surface, to get air. But he couldn't tell which way was up. Pain lanced up his side as something gouged into his ribs. The black footed cat let out a howl under the waves and water rushed in. Saturn found himself sure that he was going to die but his body wouldn't give up so easily. He kicked and kicked till through sheer luck or some kind of instinct his head broke the surface. Saturn let out choked coughs and spluttered, trying to keep his head up. He felt something brush his belly and his paws launched out to grab it. His claws snagged the branch and finally Saturn stopped being swept away but his muscles were already starting to get sore from holding him in place as the water flowed past. 

The terrified cat looked around him with wide eyes. Where was he? Where was everyone else? His eyes adjusted to see a hill rising not far off and several figures milled about there. It must be where the empire was gathering. But his only hope was to hold on for dear life until the water receded. Yet darkness pulled at his consciousness. Saturn continued to look around till he saw that a branch was sticking out of the water beside him. It must be connected to the one he was holding onto under water. So, Saturn crawled along the branch under water till he reached the ones sticking out of the water. With a last burst of energy he hauled his upper half out of the water and collapsed in the V of a branch and the trunk of the tree. His head hung low, he couldn't find the strength to lift it. He was exhausted but refused to loose consciousness. 

((Saturn is just outside of the camp so he could still be found by one of the cats coming back to camp. Also by Nadav or Freya depending on what everyone is doing. Please save the poor guy.))

Ambriel's ears were angled backward, so to hear what was going on behind. When Altan asked about her brothers, her tiny voice high with panic, Ambriel risked a look behind her. They were a decent way up the hill, no immediately danger of being swept up. Her green eyes found Luna carrying Proteus. With a crash a camp wall came down, water streaming past it, sweeping Luna and Proteus away. Ambriel's heart leaped into her throat in fear, until she saw the leader's head bob up, Proteus still safely in her jaws. She let out a sigh of relief, and noticed cats gathering on the higher slope nearby. "They're alright, Altan. Everyone's alright." She murmured, her voice thick with relief.

A familiar voice called out to her and she shifted her gaze to the lioness Eleka. She nodded and spoke as loudly as she could through Altan's fur, "I think so, all Sara's cubs are safe at least," that's all Ambriel could say confidently to the blacksmith. She hadn't had time to count everyone. She diverted her course further up the hill to reach the group of her Empiremates gathering. She put her soggy sister down beside her little brothers, giving them all a smile. "There yah go," she said, nosing Proteus' soggy mop of a mane, comforted by the touch of the young male after having seen him go under water like that. She looked up to see her sister Anane, meeting her gaze and giving her a soft smile. All her siblings were safe.

She looked over her shoulder immediately when she heard Luna call for large cats who can swim. There had never been a more perfect description of her! She saw Sebastian racing down the slope after his mother, and Ambriel turned and bounded after them. "Count me in!" the liguar called as she hurried to catch up.

At this point Nebula could only hope the rest of her offspring had already left with their father. She had never been so scared in her life. Nebula knew they were mature enough now that she didn't have to protect them 24/7 but what was quickly becoming a matter of life and death, she couldn't shake it from her mind.

She broke from her panicked state when she heard a familiar voice shout her name. She turned to see Luna at the top of the hill addressing her. Luna was bleeding. The pale grey leopard wished Luna would take a moment to rest but she knew she couldn't convince her. Nebula nodded and focused her priorities in getting everyone to higher ground.

"Everyone get as high up as you can! It's still raining so the water could still rise!"

Sebastian had been out of camp all day but decided to head back to camp once the rain began to get heavier. On his walk back the down pour didn't cease, it just got heavier... and heavier... and heavier. This wasn't normal.

The closer the hybrid got to camp the louder it got. The distant sound of cats shouting wasn't out of the norm for camp, it was quite often noisy and busy with different cats so at first this didn't panic him. But as the distance between himself and camp got smaller the sounds became clearer. This wasn't just loud chatter. There was shouting and screaming, and the unmistakable sound of roaring water.

"What the h-- .... no... no no NO NO" Sebastian's pace picked up to a full sprint as he headed towards camp.

He arrived to the site of fleeing cats and what he used to call home under rushing water. It was heartbreaking, he'd never seen anything like it. Seb heard his mother calling out for help as she headed back down the hill. He knew his mum. She was strong and resilient. There was no stopping her from going back into camp. If he couldn't stop her the least he could do was join her. He ran downhill towards his mother, passing everyone else heading to safer ground.

"MUM!! I'M COMING WITH YOU"

Luna found herself trying to multi-task and failing, she needed to focus on getting Proteus out safely, then she could focus on the others and on the camp. She was almost out of camp when one of the camp walls collapsed to reveal a huge wave of water that crashed down, she was knocked from her paws and fell into the water, doing everything she could to keep the cub's head out of water. Unfortunately in the process of falling she cut her back leg on a sharp rock under the water's surface. Luna refrained from letting out a howl for she didn't want to lose grip on Tey's scruff. The dark feline got up quickly, her thick fur now soaking wet with water, and her leg bleeding into the murky water. She started walking quicker, for the water was already past her belly. She leaped up onto a tall rock that was sticking out of the water to take a glance back at the camp...or at least, what used to be the camp. The dens were destroyed, materials floated away, and the walls of the camp were destroyed. The leader flicked her tail in annoyance at herself, she should have known a flood might happen with all this rain, but there was no time to dwell on that now. Luna splashed back into the water that was now up to her chest, she finally could feel the ground tilting upward and the water level started going down as she went uphill. Luna saw where the other felines were gathering and made her way towards them. 

Luna set Tey down near Sara and Tey's siblings, then made her way to the front of the group, "Everyone, keep heading up the hill, Nebula i'm putting you in charge for now, make sure everyone gets up the hill safely. I'm going back to make sure everyone got out, i need one or two large cats who can swim decently to come with me." Luna said addressing shadow empire before she started heading back down the hill, her cut dripping blood on the ground as she walked.

Saturn turned his head in the direction of the cat who called his name. He almost lost the herbs when he tripped on a submerged stick. The small cat growled in frustration. He glanced at the cat again, recognising her as Nadav. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he was struggling. He was just about to respond when a section of the camp wall gave way and a wave of water rushed in to add to the already rising water. Suddenly Saturn found himself neck deep in the muddy water. He stretched his neck. Trying to keep him head above the water as much as possible, while concentrating on keeping his footing while the water rushed past him and the ground slowly washed away beneath his paws. He muffled a couple words around the herbs he was carrying towards Nadav that sounded like a grunt for help but another cat called for the clouded puma. Saturn glanced that direction to see another cat coming toward them. Needless to say the black footed cat was getting nervous, probably freaking out on the inside. He wasn't sure how long he could keep himself up.

Freya dozed on the tree branch just above where she had found Scratch lounging lazily earlier. He didn't seem to have realized she had climbed quietly up the tree behind him, him being lost in his own thoughts. She happened to doze off a bit before hearing something hit the ground below the tree with a splatter of mud. She looked up just in time to see Scratch run off toward the rest of the camp, calling her name. "Brother!" She called after him, but her soft voice was lost in the clamor of voices that came from below. 

She began to climb down, although hesitantly, seeing the muddy water beginning to build up. She reluctantly hopped off the tree and ran in the direction she saw Scratch run. As she approached though, the water seemed to get a bit deeper. She saw her sister, Nadav speaking to Saturn near her mother's healing den. Making her way over, she called to her little sister and the black footed cat. "Nadav..!"

Eleka was loudly cursing to herself as she pulled and tossed some of her supplies on the ground outside the blacksmith's den. She had heard the warning that rang through the camp, but wasn't quite ready to abandon her post yet. "Damn it! All this sh*t is gonna rust overnight! The gods better hope the waters don't reach my forge... I don't have time for this! Gods Zemar would you hurry up and come back?!!" She glanced down as she saw someone coming toward her. Ambriel carrying one of Sara and Seidon's offspring trudged along uphill. "Oi, you kiddos alright?? Did they get the others out?" The young blacksmith hollered to the pair after dropping a bag on the ground.

The patrol split up as each cat raced to help their loved ones. Dahlia's eyes searched franticly for her adopted sister, her breathing frantic. Suddenly she heard a loud cry. "Dahlia help!" At the sound of her name Dahlia spotted Liven and without hesitating sprinted into the murky water. The water was getting pretty high by now and she it was significantly harder to move. There was a sudden dip in the ground and Dahlia went under, panic flaring in her chest. She paddled to the surface and gasped for air before making her way over to Liven, her paws finding solid ground. Picking the cub up by her scruff, Dahlia kept her head high so Liven was out of the water. 

The cougar spotted pale gray hybrid and another female whom Dahlia recognized as Shadow's leader, Luna. Both were carrying cubs, so Dahlia figured it was safe to assume they were headed for higher ground to keep the cubs safe. Wading quickly through the murky water, Dahlia followed the pair towards the hill.

Cubs right cubs! She saw one hanging from the jaws of her friend for a brief moment their eyes met, Nadav gave Ambriel a curt nod. They both knew what they had to do, she ran to the nursery seeing other cat's were already in there. Freya??? WHere was Freya? She ran to the apprentice's den practically falling inside only to find it empty...Freya must've gotten out already, maybe her mentor Zale took her. Good, with the worry of her sister gone she could focus better. Taking a deep breath, dare she enter the healer's den? Will THalia be there? Dare she face the feline that brought her so much pain? Nadav growled, "I don't care, I need to help my empire Thalia will just have to deal with it" She muttered to herself. THe pain of being rejected by her own mother still fresh in her memory. 

She turned and ran to the healer's den, to her surprise Thalia wasn't there, instead, Saturn was there and Luna, no Thalia. Good. She side-stepped out of the way as the smaller cat Saturn stormed by her. "You need any help Saturn?" She asked the water already almost to the black-footed cat's chest fur.

Saturn looked away from the nursery at the sound of Luna's voice. She was roaring from the top of the hill that was her den. The gladiator decided he could do nothing more for the cubs, since the place was now mostly cleared out. Instead he followed her instructions and ran for the healers den to help carry supplies out of camp. He arrived shortly after his leader had gone into the den. He paused as she suddenly appeared out of the den and shoved a bunch of herbs at him. He scrambled to catch them and ignored his irritation as she ran off toward the nursery. As leader she could hardly pause and give them to him gently in such a situation. The black-footed cat then waded his way toward the camp exit to follow the flow of cats out of the floods path.

((Anyone looking for someone to interact with. Saturn could use some help. The water will get to deep for him soon. He might even get swept away and need a rescue.))

Everyone else was allowed outside.. well except the other cubs, but that wasn't the point.  She growled as she tried to dodge the den mother Anaba's paws but got caught by her tail.  Why couldn't she play in the rain.  She had done it before with cousin Clarity but even she wasn't her to free her today! It wasn't fair! 

Just as she was about to give up and join her brothers she noticed Anaba was distracted by some shouting, realising this was probably going to be her only chance she ran as fast as her annoyingly stubby legs would carry her out into the big wide world, and finally to the edge of that big puddle she'd been wanting to jump in all day.  And yet something made her stop. The shouting was worse now,  cats were running everywhere! She crouched down, fear making her hair fluff. She could see her mum over by the healing den but now it seemed so far away... "Muuumm?!" what was going on?  Why was evertone running around! She wimpered as realised how small and alone she felt but just before she managed to pluck up the courage to run to mum... away from the rushing noise, a familiar face appeared. AMBER. Relief flooded over her as her sister scooped her up.  She uually hated being carried but today it felt like a welcome relief as she was lifted above the rising water. "What about Tey and Jay!?" she wimpered as Amber started to move towards the edge of camp. She could see mum running towards them but she couldn't carry both of her brothers. She wimpered as she swung from her sisters move.  Today was a horrible day..

Luna was cleaning her armor as it had gotten dirty in her last training day with Clarity. She was sitting on the hill of her den, watching the camp go about its business. It was sprinkling rain a tiny bit, but it started to get heavier, and when it did she put her armor on instead so the fur under her armor would stay dry...or at least dryer. Luna heard a strange noise sounding from far away, like this deep rush of water, she pushed it out of her mind as maybe it was just the river a little ways aways. The rain kept getting heavier, and with it came Ambriel bursting into camp yelling about a flash flood. Luna suddenly snapped into leader mode, her first thought was the cubs, then her own, and then the healer supplies. She stood there for a few seconds, watching everyone start to freak out and saw water rising. 

Luna let out a loud roar, "SHADOW EMPIRE! DON'T PANIC! Our biggest priority is getting everyone out safely!! Get the cubs and newly promoted apprentices first! A few of you need to go help sara and see if we can save any supplies before it floods completely! BE SAFE. EVERYONE GET TO HIGH GROUND. Don't climb a tree unless its a last resort! We don't know how long the flood will last and we don't know how long you'll be stuck up in the tree! Everyone look out after each other! Go north east toward the mountains as the plains rise and should keep us far from the flood!"

Luna heard sara calling down to the medicine supply, Quintin was down there?! That would be the first place the water would go! Luna raced over to the little cave where the herbs were stored and bolted down the steps, she quickly helped him grab as many herbs as possible and shoved him up the stairs, "Quintin we need you alive so you can help sara keep others alive! I need you to make sure Sara makes it out safe okay?" She said to the smaller feline. Luna stood there looking as cats rushed around and out of camp, she was still in shock and didn't know what to do. The camp was being washed away pebble by pebble and she couldn't do anything.

Luna handed the herbs to a passing gladiator, giving them certain instruction to make sure to not lose them and to get out of camp asap. Luna saw that most of the empire had evacuated and it was time for her to double check all the dens. She started with the nursery, Ambriel already grabbed atlan, and sara had grabbed Jay, but tey was still left behind, "Don't worry sara i got Tey, you need to get out of camp!" she called to sara before scooping up the young cub and headed for the hill herself.

Rafael's head whipped around to see the younger hybrid, relieved to spot her spotted pelt. He wondered where his siblings where, he prayed they wouldn't be swept up by the waves, but his first priority was getting Rosie out unharmed and he needed to keep his mind focused. His siblings were strong gladiators and he had faith in them getting out themselves. He gave a brisk nod to the albino healer then swiftly turned his attention back to Clarity. "Come on, you heard her! Let's go!" He roared hurriedly over the rising chaos ushering her out.

Rain… Rain.. Rain!
That’s all it ever seemed to do for the last few weeks over the Empire and in more varieties than the Blynx ever knew existed. Anywhere from fine to torrential, drizzle to that weird mist that always left fur feeling soaked before one could realise it was raining must have occurred on a frequent basis.
“Argh Rats, not again” Quintin cursed aloud as an icy stream of beaded droplets cascaded down a protruding root from the earthy ceiling above and straight down the fine hairs of his inner ear, causing him to shudder.

For the majority of his life being a part of Shadow Empire, he had never known the ground under paw to feel so waterlogged. The usual grainy earth that lined the floor, walls and ceiling of the Healer Den were now very slick and muddy to the touch and it was common to find a trickle of liquid snaking its way down from a dark corner and usually pooling in an inconvenient place.
Yet despite the damp he had remained vigilant and had somehow managed to keep on top of his everyday chores the best he could, and even was deep in the process as Sara had requested to bag up everything that was still dry and together they would find alternative accommodation for the camp’s healing resources.

It had been quiet going for the last hour or so, with Thalia away and Sara coming and going in and out from the surface, Quintin had found other ways to entertain himself in the gloomy damp silence. The aptly named ‘Nuzzle test’ that he had amused himself creating had sadly indicated that at least a very high percentage of their linen rolls were damp, wet or sodden to the point of wringing and the ones that were salvageable were short and would only be useful for small species felines or for minor cuts or scrapes of larger individuals. These he had tucked in the tied cerulean scarf around his neck hoping that the warmth of his body would prevent the damp getting to them further.
At the present time he had managed to fill his trusty wooden bucket with three coloured glass bottles of purple liquid and a couple of very small vials of clear from the area that Thalia had always deemed the important ‘human’ section. Their three leather satchels lined against the driest wall were half filled with the pottery bowls that weren’t currently being used to catch drips and all that was left to carry out was the mammoth task of snuffling about each herb depositing area to check for dry specimens.
As much as it felt like he’d have more chance finding a dry plant outside Quintin prevented himself from complaining. This was an easy task compared to some things he might have to face if he wished to continue his training to become a fully fledged healer.

With the first few specimens being just as ruined as he had expected, Quintin found his mind wandering as he paced across the dampening soil. He imagined that probably not all that long ago someone who occupied a majority of his quiet brain time was probably instructed to carry out similar routine tasks to fill the Herb store and now in their pawprints he was having to preserve part of their time and dedication. To these thoughts and many others did Quintin find himself rubbing his fluffy face ruffles against the feel of the cerulean scarf around his neck hoping for a flicker of comfort, to many it’s previous owner was gone but to him he had to hold out hope that one day his prayers to the forest shadows would bring his friend safely home again.

Somewhere out of the silence did he hear the familiar sound of Sara’s voice calling to him from the surface. Preoccupied however he yelled back a simple “I’ll be up in a minute, I won’t be able to carry much more by myself” before proceeding to stuff a few earthy plump roots into one of the open satchels.

So much was happening so quickly that is was overwhelming. She listened to Saturn's instructions, to climb trees. Yes, surely trees would be safe, right? But she couldn't do that, she was a large cat, one of the taller in the Empire due to her species, and thus would be able to keep above the water for longer. And beyond that, escaping was not on Ambriel's mind, not until everyone was safe first.

Sara's words made the liguar gasp in alarm. Quintin's down there? Ambriel thought, her eyes narrowing in determination as she prepared to leap in the Healer's den and make sure the healer apprentice got out as the water began to stream down the steps. But before she could move a muscle, Sara shouted her name and she looked up. "Altan.." she gasped, her pale green eyes wide as they locked on her little adopted sister. The little golden cub looked tiny among the chaos of the camp, the water rushing in and around them all. She could be swept away at any moment! She hoped Quintin could get out on his own. A snarl ripping from her, Ambriel lunged forward, paws splashing in water as she quickly closed the distance between herself and little Altan. "Up you go," she said as she approached, in hopes to somewhat make light of the situation to the young cub. She didn't even stop as her huge jaws grabbed the loose skin on Altan's neck, lifting her high above the water. For now... the water was rising quickly. Would it go over her head, she wondered? She had no idea... and it was terrifying. She loved the water, and she loved swimming. But absolutely not like this, and not in full armor.

With Altan safely in her jaws, Ambriel paused for a heartbeat to shoot an anguished glance behind her. It was total chaos. Cats were rushing here and there, trying to reach those who needed help and get themselves to higher ground. Had Quintin made it out of the den? Had Clarity Rose and Raf made it to higher ground? Where was Scratch, and Sara for that matter, with the other two cubs? She wanted to search around, and make sure that everyone was okay. But that was absolutely out of the question with her little sister in her jaws. And there was nowhere safe she could leave her, not with how unpredictable this flood was. As much as she wanted to help others, she knew that right now Altan was the only one she could care about.

Through the whirlwind her eyes locked with Nadav, one of her very best friends. It wasn't easy for the golden she-cat to leave anyone behind in such a dangerous situation. But she knew that she had to. Looking at the clouded puma reminded her that they were in an Empire together. No cat was meant to do this alone. Her only job now was to take her precious cargo to safety. She had to trust her other companions, like Nadav, to take care of everyone else. And there wasn't a moment more to waste. Giving Nadav a curt nod, Ambriel turned. "Let's get outta here, yeah?" she rumbled to Altan through the cub's scruff, plowing through the water and pushing through debris. She half tripped over a submerged rock, but was able to catch herself, unfortunately splashing poor Altan a bit into the water. "Gah, sorry, Ally!" she grunted, ignoring the throbbing in her paw. So clumsy, she cursed herself, this was not the time for carelessness. She scrambled her way up the slope toward the Blacksmith's Forge, now out of the water and making her way up the soggy slope. She just had to keep heading uphill.

Rain. That's all it seemed to be doing the past few days. Non-stop rain.
Nebula had taken residence inside for the vast majority of what felt like a few weeks inside the dens, but even now as rain still continued to pour it seemed shelter wasn't couldn't even protect from the wet. The ground was becoming so saturated with water that it was beginning to seep into the dens. Nebula woke from her nap, finding she was laying on damp ground that was previously dry when she first nodded off. "Hmm" she mused to herself. For the middle of summer this was... unusual... even if Shadow Empire was quite often on damp ground. Curious indeed.

The leopardess made her way to the mouth of the dens. As she moved the round of heavy rain grew louder and louder, then the sound of loud voices followed soon after.

"FLASH FLOOD!" 

If she was still dazed from her nap she was definitely awake now! Her eyes adjusted to the light outside and immediately she saw water slowly creeping its way towards camp. She spotted Clarity with Sara and Rafael over by the Healers Den. Nebula hot-footed it over to the small crowd of familiar faces.

She watched as Rafael ran with Clarity out of camp to safer ground. Nebula ran to Sara. "OH SARA HAVE YOU SEEN JOSEPHINE OR NEIL? I CAN'T SEE THEM!"

She should have heard it coming she should have been alert.. but no she had been pacing thinking about something that couldn't be solved with thought alone. So here she was in the middle of camp away from her children when the water came rushing in.  Shouting and noise erupting with it, Amber was back and rge news wasn't good. Her first thought was her babies. Her tiny ones. Clarity's panic brought on her cold mood. The one that took over when the panic hit. That cold grip that almost silenced her heart when it hurt most. Just like the time with that dreaded serval in the city. 
It was time to act. 

"QUIN GET OUT HERE" she shouted as she spun on the spot. "Clarity go with Raf, get to higher ground now" she was facing away from the young cat now, she'd need to move.  Right now she needed to get her babies.  It seemed as if the confusion had let Altan slip out past Anaba and was now right in the waters path.  "AMBER GET ALTAN NOW" she wanted to get her herself but the cold calculation told her  the apprentice was closer, she would get to Jay and Tey soon. Jay would be very afraid he needed her. She would grab him, she needed anther cat! Was that Scratch shouting for Freya? "SCRATCH CAN YOU TAKE TEY FOR ME?!"

The young apprentice was near the healer's den, dozing under a bush. She'd been watching the two healers try to salvage supplies from the den, due to the steady fall of rain. She felt bad that the supplies had been damaged, and she knew it was a problem but. . . Being completely honest she was loving the rain every day. It was so nice, and she loved the sound of it- so soothing and repetitive. So much, that she'd ended up falling asleep under her bush. 

She didn't know how long it'd been, but Clarity woke up a while later to the sounds of shouting. Blinking, she cleared the sleep from her eyes. What was the yelling about?? Was it hunters?! Her legs began to tremble, making her attempt to stand up falter. Her indigo eyes were now wide with fear, and the rain was now pounding the ground, her heart in rhythm. 

After a moment or so she managed to get on her feet, limbs still shivering however. She took a few steps forward, now in front of the healer den entrance, a few feet away from Sara and a golden cat she couldn't quite place the name on. "S-S-Sara, what's going on?? Are there hunters again??" Hearing her name, the hybrid turned quickly, seeing the brown fur that was her friend. "Raffie!" She shouted back, eyes now filled with a mix of rain and tears. What was happening???

Rafael let out a big yawn, his tongue curling up and his large fangs on display. Still drowsy from his nap slowly his head rose from his paws, half lidded eyes glancing around his makeshift nest from the corner of the camp. The sound of rain made his ears perk upright.

It's still raining? The hybrid contemplated just going back to sleep, there really wasn't much he was supposed to do today anyway. But his thoughts were interrupted when sounds of commotion made it to his ears. His foggy haze vanished and he was already on his paws. A flood? A flood?!


"Damn it!" He cursed under his breath springing towards the center of the camp. "Clarity?! Sebastian!" Frantically he examined his surroundings to see if he could spot the young apprentice or either of his siblings. "Silvia?!"

Water... why was there always so much water? 

The leopard growled as he lounged on one of the higher branches of a tree, the great trunk slung low over the camp, allowing him to see everyone and avoid a certain lioness all without moving a muscle. That was... if he had his eyes open. Having been pouting for the past week, the leopard had dozed off mid pout this morning and it was only the cry of "FLASH FLOOD!" that jerked him out of his thoughts. Startled he jumped up, slipped on the wet bark and immediately plummeted to the ground. Splashing into the mud, the leopard came up sputtering and running for the dens. Freya, Sara's new cubs, the other cubs! His stash!! Where was Eleka and Zemar? He skidded to a halt then and his heart beat furiously in his chest. What was he even supposed to do first?

"Freya!" His thoughts immediately leapt to the young cat.

Dahlia sprinted alongside the rest of the patrol, her eyes wide with fear. Dahlia hated swimming, and basically everything that included water. But the cougar was much to proud to ever admit she was afraid of the sometimes dangerous substance. Her paws sunk deep into the mud, sometimes taking a moment for Dahlia to pull out. She thought it was completely disgusting, it would take ages to clean out of her fur. "Ugh now it's stuck on me!" Dahlia completely agreed with her fellow apprentice, but was to breathless to respond. 

A shock ran up Dahlia's spine as the icey water nipped at her heels. The cougar could imagine falling into it's depths, unable to reach the surface... The cougar's eyes widened even more, if that was even possible, as she thought of her newly adopted family, Aelius and Liven. As they burst into camp, the water already flowing in, Dahlia looked wildly for the pair, her violet eyes flashing with panic. "Liven!" Dahlia called over the sound of water and the shrieks of surprise and fear. "Aelius!"

A simple hunting patrol. How had it all gone so wrong? saturn had already been miserable because of the unending rain they'd had. He'd been soaked to the bone and wading through elbow deep water cursing his tiny legs, while the bigger apprentices were only having to walk through what was simply ankle deep puddles to them. That's when he felt it. The water rising to his chest. Things went down hill from there as they hurried to check on what could be happening. He didn't even have to say anything as he watched the wall of water rising to above his chest. Each and every member of the patrol turned and ran like demons were at their backs. Eventually Saturn found himself having to jump through the water as it rose around them. All the way back to camp. 

Ambriel burst into camp first and roared a warning to all the others. He followed with the others close at his heels. The tiny blackfooted cat ran first for the nursery. After all, those most at risk of drowning were the cubs and elderly. Water was already flooding into camp. Hopefully they still had time to evacuate camp before things became worse. He stuck his head into the nursery calling to those inside who may not have heard. "Hurry. Everyone out! Take care of your siblings and friends. Stick together and get out. Climbing a tree would be best. A tall tree. Don't worry, someone will come get you." 

Cats seemed to be running in every direction when he turned around to look. Now the water in camp was even at his shoulders. Gladiators moved past him picking up cubs. He resisted the urge to do the same. If the water suddenly picked up and he was carried away because of his size that cub would most likely not survive with him. Instead the shadow gladiator continued to call warnings to urge his fellow empire mates to run and stick together.

Water, Nadav never really dislike water but she didn't like it much either, this much water, however, was definitely on her DO NOT like list. The past few months had been rough on the young clouded puma leopard, but she was determined to keep her friendship with Ambriel, and her relationship with Freya strong. She didn't want to close herself off to those that she loved and loved her in return. So when the water started rushing up her paws, her mind flashed instantly to Freya and Ambriel, especially Freya because she was...Well rather short. 

She ran alongside Ambriel back towards camp as fast as her paws could carry her, her right paw slid deep into the mud as she ran down a ridge. Feeling herself tumble forward and roll over backwards in mud. The sticky gooey substance stuck all over her already brown pelt, "Ugh now it's stuck on me!" She complained, but her pouting only lasted a second as suddenly water rushed over her spine, cold, icy water making her yelp in surprise. "Right, water, gotta keep moving!" She told herself, getting back on her paws and bursting into camp with the other cat's on her patrol. The camp was already starting to flood.

I just kinda focused on the part of them running into camp so we could get right started, if that's okay? I tried to keep things as generic as possible but let me know if I went too far with assuming things for your characters, you guys, and I am happy to edit my post!



It had all happened so fast, a normal but soggy hunting patrol with her fellow apprentices Nadav and Dahlia and Gladiator Saturn, interrupted by a gradual rushing sound and an unusually wet ground. The cats had warily continued forward to investigate, and the rising water at their paws began to deepen, and the current grew stronger. It began clear quickly that something terrible was coming. Water was flooding from the river right toward the swampy lowlands of the Shadow Empire Camp! There had been no time to think as the patrol raced home to warn the others.

The water was moving quickly, already sloshing under Ambriel's paws as she flew along beside her Empire mates, exchanging a worried look with Nadav. This place was swampy as always, and she had no fear of mud. But it was wetter than she had ever felt it before. She let out a roar of warning, as loud as she could in hopes the sound would reach the camp, channeling her inner lion. The sound reverberated through her chest and exploded from her open jaws like thunder. The water was rising quickly around them, it would soon begin to flood the camp!

Ambriel burst through the camp entrance, "Flood! A flash flood is coming!" she shouted for all to hear. Her eyes locked immediately on Sara, who was standing in the middle of camp by the entrance to the herbs storage area. "Sara, is there someone down there? There's water coming, they need to get out!" Ambriel knew that the underground herb storage area would be the first place to take on water, and quickly! She was not a cat to be easily frightened, but the the apprentice had never seen anything like this before. And besides that, this was no enemy that a cat could fight was claws and strength. Cats strong and weak alike will drown just as easy (and not to mention she had metal clad all over her)!

It felt like it had been raining for weeks now.. in reality it wasn't quite as long but it had been a lot. Sara grumbled as she padded around the entrance to the herb storage area, the underground stash had been soaked as the puddles at the entrance had slowly dribbled down the steps. Their supplies had been devastated. She cursed and kicked a puddle with her paw. They could barely salvage anything but the few things on the top shelf and even then they weren't completely dry. Quin wad down there now trying to bag up what was left so they could put it somewhere safe.. The air it self seemed wet.
Shaking her head she looked back over to the nursery were Anaba was watching over her cubs. Altan kept jumping out and trying to get to the nearest puddle top get wet but everytime the older cat would grab her. Hopefully someone would be back soon to entertain them.. Ambriel was on the patrol top check the river levels but Scratch or someone should be around. And where was that mate of hers?
