Ok, so for the Fatal Frame Beyond the Camera's Lens Challenge, this would have been Day 20, but I ran out of time so I couldn't make it.

Fatal Frame I's center ritual is The Strangling Ritual. It is the bounding of a chosen priestess, who is trained as a child to become the sacrifice to stop the door of the Abyss/Hell from opening. This is done by binding the priestess with ceremonial ropes, who is then slowly pulled apart. The blood that soaks into the ropes is then mounted to the door and appease the Abyss/Hell until the next sacrifice.

Here seen is Kirie, the antagonist who was chosen to perform the ritual. She would have willingly gone through with it until she met an outsider and fell in love with him. She died with regret, therefore her blood did not appease the Abyss, which then broke open and spread malice throughout the Himuro Mansion causing a tragedy.
