I go for the original Red/Satoshi/Ash & Kasumi/Misty pairing, since the early games hinted at it and the manga made it canon before the anime moved on and basically kicked Kasumi/Misty aside for these other females, which is a load of bunk, since even by DP, it is shown that Kasumi/Misty STILL loves the little boy she first fished out of the river.
