Origin and Mascots

Revri and Malis were created together by their goddess, Starpuff, who is believed to be an overseeing figure of the galaxy enveloping the night sky. Starpuff draws in her breath and lets out a sparkly, blue aura that sails across space towards Regalla. The aura latches onto a passing icy space rock and enchants it while hollowing it out to make room for a baby Muna's spirit. The Muna incubates in this space "egg" for as long as it needs to fully develop. When a newborn "hatches", the bell on Revri's tail rings and she peers into her crystal ball to locate them. She travels at rapid speeds and returns back with the newborn to settle them into the nursery.

Malis is an eater of nightmares and once held the duty of making his rounds while Muna are sleeping. If someone is awake around him he can accidentally cause them to have terrifying hallucinations due to all of the dark energy stored within him. This causes him to hide away during the day as he only wants to take away terrors. Malis lurks at times and his presence is found to be unnerving by those in the surrounding area. He will use this power as a weapon towards a threat if necessary. Since Revri was born at the same time as him she's the only Muna unaffected by his aura. It's dangerous for Malis to be around a newborn Muna because his aura can seep into their vulnerable spirit causing them to take on Nightmare traits. Revri gives him an advanced warning of when to not be around, but her mission to retrieve a newborn can be unexpected and there's no time. His loneliness tempts him to ignore her warnings because he believes that a newborn Muna infused with his aura would allow them to withstand his presence.

Starpuff, Goddess of the Muna, may be depicted in multiple ways. It's generally agreed upon that her true form is closer to the way a Muna would look. However, some images portray her with an alternate appearance. Festivals are held to celebrate her and a common event is drawing Starpuff in abstract or unique ways. She represents creation and peace so her meaning to the Muna is much more important than her appearance!

Current time
Throughout the years, more Muna have been brought in by Revri and a bustling community has developed. What was once a job she did by herself, she now has a team of nurses to help out with the newborns. Each newborn needs rest after their long journey so the nurses usher each baby into their own enchanted glass bottle to rest. Gifted glassblowers of Regalla have harnessed the ability to combine magic with glass in their works. They create bottles for the newborns or other Muna who've carelessly let theirs break. The bottle is important for trait changing, healing, resting, breeding, and grooming. When a Muna enters a blank bottle for the first time, the outer appearance will slowly take on some of the Muna's design and traits. This process binds the bottle to that Muna and can be best explained by the {Muna Bottle Guide}

Malis continues to keep bedtime peaceful for the citizens of Regalla by deploying small creatures capable of consuming nightmares. These Jabbers, as we call them, are the result of a successful experiment which Malis uses to keep up with the growing population. The more Muna that exist, the more possibilities of nightmares. Nightmares cause instability in a Muna's spirit while they're sleeping and can make them lash out in their sleep. Depending on the Muna's abilities, the results of a nightmare induced attack can be disastrous for the surrounding area. Malis currently resides in a private, isolated area containing his laboratory. His ongoing experiment is finding a way to turn the nightmare auras into useful energy. Time is ticking for him as the dark mass grows...

Diet
A Muna's normal diet consists of fish, fruit, and vegetables. Some Muna may venture out of this and hunt for larger game. Others have taken a liking to incorporating bugs into their meals. It largely depends on a Muna's personal preference or their location within the region.

+ From foot to head Meteorite Muna are at least 2 feet tall and Comet Muna are 3-3.5 feet tall.
+ Hooves/Soul Binders/Antlers&Horns start out the same color.
+ Engravings, patterns, and color changes for hooves/soul binders/antlers&horns can be purchased using tokens in the boutique.
+ Accessories are not limited. Feel free to customize!
+ It's rare for more than one soul binder to exist on a single tail.
+ It's uncommon for Muna to have 2 tails.
+ The bottom portion of the ear is a flap similar to elephants.
+ A Muna in spirit state cannot use magic or speak.
+ Meteorite Muna are fully grown and aren't babies. It's a different body type.

Inspiration
Muna are inspired by baby elephants, miniature horses, and genies. Baby elephants inspired their thick limbs and expressive ears. Miniature horses inspired their general anatomy and hooves. Genies influenced the soul binders and incorporation of bottle containment within their lore.
