Description
I felt like taking a trip to Hogwarts, so I did. I also wanted to practice hatching and flat colors. Not sure how successful the hatching was (I'm thinking largely not), but it was fun to do.

Full disclosure, the shield, filigree, and banner was traced. Everything else was added (actual lettering, animals, Sorting Hat) as my own creation. Original image rights belong to J.K. Rowling and all other appropriate parties though this piece is my own work.

Things I like: the background, overall design concept

Things I worked on: hatching, penmanship (trust me, that's a lot better than my normal handwriting)

Things that still need improvement: better pen control, finer lines for hatching, and not rely on the line tool int the future

Hours spent ~4.25 hours.
