I always wondered what an Imperial shrine would look like, so I challenged myself to make one. The key part I focused on what the general dirt and clutter; humans in the 40k universe and not a tidy, minimalist bunch. Hiveworlds are incredibly crowded, insular affairs, every surface having been personalized in one way or another by countless millions of individuals desperate to make a mark. So clutter and personality had to be in, along with a sense of grandiose purpose subverted by a hundred meaningless things. This took the form of hundreds of small personal items, taken from the dead by the survivors, and placed on the shrine in the failed hope there would be meaning in it all.
