This is actually a work in progress, part of a much bigger project of mine. The world has not name yet. Well, it had, Amalur (than in Basque language, one of my mother languages, means "Mother Earth"), but 38 Studios, Big Huge Games are developing a videogame called "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning", so cause I don't want to have any problems in the future, I decided to change it, but I didn't fin any new name that convinces me.

The map is not ended yet, that's only one of the continents and many details must be put on their places. I don't know how I'm going to finish the map, because my computer can't handle with the huge size of the file.

Enjoy the view! And please, leave your comments.

Wonderful map! It seens your world is UBER populous, tons os cityes o_O

Can I give you a TIP?
Create the map and color background in Photoshop as you already did, but create all the names, boarder lines and stuff in Indesign over the JPG of your map. Save the "open" one in photoshop but create a clone flatened as JPG. This will make the working file to be ULTRA LIGHT ( few megas) with ULTRA QUALITY (names and importante stuff in vector)!

Hope I could help ya

Thank you very much. I will try, but try doesn't mean do it. xD I don't know to work with Indesign.

Or illustrator! Something Vectorial! Or even photoshop! LOL

Simply Flaten the UberBackground to a JPG so Photoshop stop rendering all the textures and effects.

The file will be smaller then u can continue working
I want to see the rest of the world

I like your work! Is that hand made or you used a program for mapping? I'm looking for a good one, so maybe you have some suggestions ^^

I only used Adobe Photoshop. Well, actually first I drew it on paper (with much less cities) and then with Paint (that was on 2005, when I didn't know how to use Photoshop). Some months ago I decided to upgrade the quality of the map, so I passed it to Photoshop.

So, I'm sorry, I don't know any specific program to do maps like this, but if you find one, please, tell me. It will be handy.

I know only good program called Autorealm, that is totally free and have quite a lot of useful tools, all the others have to be payed so I don't use them.

Yeah, well, I already knew Autorealm, but I supposed that you spoke about some program with a better finish.

that's what I'm looking for too! Stuff made in Autorealm are nice but a little "rough" maybe... considering that I use Autorealm maps for role playing purpose, they are useful, but not exactly good looking (or not enough at least)

God, I hate those obnoxious "STOP - I AM PRESUMING YOU ARE A THIEF" pictures, they're so fucking insulting. If someone is going to steal your stuff, they're going to do so even if you warn them, and those who won't are just insulted.

I'm sorry if you felt insulted, obviously it was not my goal to do so. This is till this date the first of my works where I put that picture, but usually I prefer to use Creative Commons. This one is a special case.

By the way, I disagree when you say that those who won't steal my work are just insulted. I've seen that picture so many times, my intention was not to steal those works and I didn't feel insulted.
