It is sometimes hard, on the order of impossible sometimes, to invoke the muses. So when you show up, sit down, and practice your craft sometimes it is absolutely miserable and you make no progress. But occasionally on a day you could never predict and in a way you could never expect the muse flows through you. You take no notice, because you cannot simply choose to do it. In this tranquil fury, your very essence flows through you like water as naturally as breath from your lungs or blood in your heart. Then you look up and are shocked. It's two in the morning and wonder if you remembered to eat dinner. Maybe that's what it means to be a starving artist?
