Just got done with making sprites for the original Donkey Kong (Younger Cranky Kong) in various styles. I've been thinking that since DK haven't made a single appearance in a mainstream Mario game other than a cameo in Odyssey, I thought about converting his original appearance to a few retro games related to Mario.
I'm only going to make 4 sheets for one of the listed styled sprites you're seeing now. Two of them are already done(SMB 1 and 2), one is being worked on(SMB3), and the last one(SMW) is on hold until the sheet for SMB3 is done. Hope those sheets can help the community increase more support for DK in fangames. Enjoy!

My friend wanted to give it a makeover to look like the DK from DK '94, because of the extended poses he was given. He thinks that Cranky Kong himself would be too closeminded on the idea of having an extended moveset. So, why not give it to the one closest to the OG DK, his grandson? Because he believes DK first appeared in DK '94, due to the red tie, especially considering Miyamoto proposed the idea of a necktie wearing DK, and that DK '94 was months prior to DKC's release, even when DKC was being commercialized.
