Alright heres the start of a new series of pieces that I've been wanting to do for a while now! pony bio stuff has really always super interested me so heres a bunch of stuff about pony type genes and biology I talked a bit about in my moms and kids series!

Rainbow Dash:

Rainbow is a very good example of most mainstream recognizable pegasus traits! She has a short stature made for flying (dashlet) and the right type of specialized feathers in all the right places to optimize her speed. Rainbow exhibits a different common pegasus trait in her piebald coloration, its the same thing that causes her extremely coloration and "rainbow colors". Pegasus usually have brighter more showy colors than the other pony types and have more elaborate patterns on their wings. Their hair is usually rounded looking from a far as it is actually a different type of specialize feather. Rainbow has relatively small wing claws but they are primarily what pegasus use to hold and handle things. Rainbows wings are also proportionally large for her body to help support her weight even with her hollow bones. Pegasus specialized feathers are usually located around their ears, chest, flank, feet, and wings while having different feather types as their hair as mentioned before as well as a different type to cover their hooves for aerodynamics.

Fluttershy:

Fluttershy has 2 pegasus parents but that doesn't mean that most of her family tree is made up of them. Fluttershy has a surprisingly large amount of unicorn and deer blood in her and it shows mostly in her tall stature and coloration. Pegasus are prone to bone disease the larger they get and Fluttershy is no exception, she will experience arthritis most likely in her legs and wings due to her body not knowing how to deal with her biologically larger size. Fluttershy has less pronounced specialized feathers on her chest and feet than rainbow as well, you can see her hooves a bit under the feathers she does have. Fluttershy has some bat pegasus traits and side effects from her transformation including small and pronounced fangs as well as a larger and retractable wing claw. Around the full moon she sheds her wings, but can still fly due to their magical change in make up and more leathery appearance. Fluttershy has spots on her back due to her deer heritage and more muted colors and back markings due to both that and her unicorn blood, as both deer and unicorns have naturally more muted color pallets. Shes got a more spindly frame due to her unicorn genetics as well.
