Xavier - "It does, indeed. "
Magneto - "What do you do, when you wake up to that?"
Xavier - "I feel a great swell of pity for the poor soul who comes to that school... looking for trouble"

- In the same month that The Avengers came together by combining a number of super-heroes, another super-hero team consisting of all new super-heroes came together. What sets these characters from the rest is they're comprised of teenagers instead of adults and they got their powers naturally due to the mutant gene they were born with.
- Professor Charles Xavier, a powerful telepath had his merry mutants comprised of Scott Summers who has concussive optic blasts which are completely involantery coming from another dimension, Jean Grey who is a telekinetic meaning she can move objects at her will, Bobby Drake who is made from snow, Angel who has enormous feathered wings, and beast who has the agility and strength to match a gorilla.
- The professor trains these young mutants to use and control their powers and also how to work as a team.
- Meanwhile, Erik Lensherr also known as a Magneto decides to take a army base by force to show the homo-sapiens that the mutants are superior . Erik is an Omega level mutant, the same as Charles and also good friends with Charles. Unfortunately their beliefs lie within of two sides of the same coin.
- Charles sends his team of mutants, who he dubs his "X-men" , to go stop Magneto.
- The X-men tell Magneto that if he goes through with his plan then the humans will hate and fear the mutants. Much to their dismay, this is what Magneto wants. He wants to show that mutants should take over.
- The team works together using their strengths and stop Magneto. He escapes but takes off his helmet to have a quick conversation with Charles about how he is impressed by his children. He asks if he fears of anyone coming for them and Charles confidently says he feels pity on anyone who would try.
