"… In the afterglow of their long, vigorous evening, the Tevinter elf rose to redress himself, trying his best not to wake Hawke. The visions of his past were haunting him, and he felt desperate as he stared into the fire, trying to sort his jumbled thoughts. The Champion soon stirred in his sheets, rising just slightly to view Fenris lovingly. He quickly became worried by the former slave's demeanor.
'Fenris? Is everything alright?' Hawke asked him.
'No, I…' struggled the stern elf, his stoic and defensive guard down.
'Was it… too strange to be with a man?' asked the Champion cautiously, not wishing to push the elf too hard but still too curious for his own good.
'No, it wasn't that,' replied Fenris, turning swiftly to face the semi-nude man. 'Let me be clear, Hawke… What occurred between us was greater than I ever could have imagined,' he said firmly, determined to quell his fears."
"Bullshit! How do you know that's what really happened?" objected Cassandra, leaning over the dwarf with hands on her hips and suspicion in her eyes.

I've been thinking this too. After one freaking night, EVERYONE seems to know what happened and Varric knows it in detail. That's pretty confusing, considering that the companions don't share the same camp with only fabric walls between them like in Origins... : D

It's quite simple really: Varric waits under Hawke's bed with a notebook to record everything that happens...EVERYTHING

Also, even though everyone knows that the characters slept together, in Fenris's case, for example, people don't seem to realize they are not even together. Like Aveline in The Long Road-quest. And Fenris was right behind Hawke too when she said it... Man, I wish I could've punched Aveline there...

Varric you! Actually, how does he know when Hawke is in a relationship with his/her companions? 'Cause I doubt Hawke would tell him about his/her personal life.

In the estate, Hawke makes a comment on a journel in his/her bedroom, saying that "I keep it all written down here" or something like that. So, mabye our friend Varric has done a little reading....

I was in the same boat as you. It kinda angered me to think they get into a sexual relationship if you don't date either of them, but the way to solve that is to just never use both in your party at the same time. Then no banter is heard!

One of my favorite scenes in the game is Varric narrating right after Hawke says something he goes "Hawke said sarcastically" after each of his lines and Hawke turns to him and goes "I really hate when you do that." Can't remember the exact quote, but pretty sure it was in the second act. Haha!

Yup! I was playing a very aggressive Hawke who usually went into bad moods after bad shit happened. XD; I wonder if that caused that scene to happen or just that Varric was in the party. I don't recall it during my female mage run. I think I saved that spot so will find out what quest it was. XD
