Description
This guy's been around un-fleshed-out for a good year. Wanted to get some back story on him finally. I may just make him a guy from Monaco but I went with a fictional country for now.It goes like this:
Emerson Dash was a wealthy, handsome, educated prince of the European micro-nation monarchy of Monateria who objected to the harsh and criminal rule of his ailing father, the king, and spoke out against him. His father had long employed a crew of scientists to search for a cure for his ailment. The most loyal and brilliant of these scientists had achieved some advances and some failures, many later modified for criminal purposes, with various DNA-targeting inoculations. The father, feeling betrayed by Emerson's opposition, arranged for him to be exposed to a virus designed to kill him, but it became mixed with other chemicals and instead transformed him into a deformed, mute monstrosity. It also gave him powerful, unexpected telekinetic abilities. Unable to tell the love of his life, Madelyn, what had happened to him, she shunned him as a monster, shattering his heart. His father also threatened to have Madelyn killed should Emerson interfere with his rule. When Madelyn became privy to various clues and reconciled that the appearance of the monster coincided with the inexplicable absence of the prince, she feared the worst and sought out the monster. Upon locating him in a dark cave, they touched fingers and the virus began to transfer onto her, deforming her hand and arm while returning Emerson’s arm to normal. Horrified, she screamed, broke contact and ran away, returning the virus to Emerson.
After deep introspection, she returned ready to sacrifice herself and take the virus from him so he could have a normal life and resume his destiny as a prince and future king. Emerson avoided her and chased her away, not wanting her to be burdened with his miserable curse. She snuck back into his lair as he slept, and siphoned the virus away from him. He awoke dazed and in pain, but in his restored human state. It was too late however, as the virus changed his beloved into a deformed monstrosity. Too weak and immobile from the stressful process to steal the virus back, he fell unconscious but not before witnessing the stress of the transition kill his beloved. When he awoke, there was nothing left but a dissolved pile of spent organic matter which he carefully buried and then sealed the cave shut.
Though human again, yet mourning the loss of his beloved, Emerson learned that the previous interaction with the virus left him retaining the abilities bestowed upon him while in his monstrous transformed state. Emerson was now a megapowerful telekinetic able to expertly control vast quantities of matter with his mind, enabling him to fly and lift and control objects as heavy as 100 tons with relative ease. As a trained swordsman and fighter, Emerson is a skilled combatant. He vowed to abandon his father’s last name until he could use his powers to destroy his empire and exact revenge for his beloved’s untimely demise. Since Madelyn had always referred to him as her “gallant prince,” Emerson adopted the name, Gallant, and began working to bring down his father's criminal empire.

I didn't really read the story. But at first glance I pictured him as a prince. And what crossed my mind is that his father could have been or be a super powered hero and that he has to carry on the family tradition. Sort of like a noble super powered blood line.

Sometimes simplicity is best and your idea has fundamental appeal. I may have to dial back all the Shakespearean crap in the backstory. Thanks, man!

Nice.
I can see him being one of those more darker, obsessive crimefighter types. Like a superpowered Punisher. He has no interest in friends, allies, and a personal life. Just in fighing his father's criminal racket.

With the exception of father-related stuff, I had envisioned him as the noble, polite, courteous princely type that Madelyn fell in love with and him trying to honor that character. But I like the idea of him struggling not to go berzerk on his dad's evil forces (and of course, snapping!). Could be a cool angle!

Hmmm...well, I can see a compromise. He can be a noble, polite, and couteous type, but I can imagine him also keeping people at a distance.

Oh, yeah. Dude, I have at least 20 completed heroes/heroines all colored up with no background written yet. I'll pick one out and thow it up here for ya. Maybe you can invent a background?

Ah... I might be able to, depending on the character and powers if you have those down. (if not I can invent those too if you are alright with that) Might you have anything planned for these heroes at some point?

Not really, not at this time...I create them on the fly with no real direction. Sometimes I think...I need an archer-guy or a projectile guy or a warrior chick but not much more than that. Then I think of their powers, backgrounds and place in the universe. Kinda bass-ackwards but it gets the job done. I can create characters for a specific already established background as well. I often get commissions like that.

Ah, gotcha. Well I can try to think of something if you bring them up and are alright with me suggesting ideas/backstories/powers. I can try regardless of the hero.

Cool back story.
I like the costume design also. Very regal-looking.
