I think my design skills aren't quite up to what I'd like these guys to look like. I have a vague sense that one should "Imagine a human-sized scorpion, that was then gotten by a facehugger alien, and then the result was assimilated by the Borg" to get into the right mindset of what these things look like. I also feel like their technology should look like it's hard to figure out if it was grown or built -- as it is built on a nanite scale so it's built but rather looks like it grew.
Anyway, it's pretty liable to change, but it's a start.
