Here's my shot at the ongoing "Space Out" challenge. A space theme + widescreen format means I couldn't resist participating in the challenge even though the competetion is looking tough already.

My creation is a black sun which is perceivable only by its heat signature because it emits light in the infrared range that is not visible to the human eye. I tried to make the black sun appear extra fiery just like a regular sun but the biggest challenge was to make a dark object on dark space background work compositionwise. I hope you like the result.

Most of it was painted in Photoshop. The asteroids were rendered in Blender 2.8.
