I have read Dune, the whole 6 volumes, basicly devouring them and changing my life forever. I f I were God, I would have commissioned Frank Herbert and his son to write the Holy Bible. I clearly remember the moment when Leto the II has chosen to follow the Atreides destiny all the way through and covered himself with the same type of creatures that covered the giant sand worms. This enabled him to become virtually indestructible, fast- much in the manner of the Flash character and to live three thousands years, becoming himself with time a giant worm with a human face, leading the Humanity on The Golden Path. In this painting, the author has captured perfectly the moment when Leto II embraced his destiny in the middle of the Arrakian desert. From the texture of his skin, resembling actually an existing in our world stone called "Desert Rose", to the wonderful tones typical of a poetic desert, this picture would look great on a de luxe edition of the Dune novel.
