The format of the gif itself needs to be one that DA accepts. if its the wrong format it won't work right.Β

Awesome! But how does it work with making pony Icons? (with a base)

EROCKERTORRES In reply to iNightPonies [2014-11-05 16:58:41 +0000 UTC]

DA allows gifs to be used as your icon. I believe you just have to make sure it doesn't exceed 150x150 pixels

I tried to upload my gif on DA, but it keeps asking for a preview image. How did you successfully upload your gif to DA?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EROCKERTORRES In reply to MarcDrawbook [2014-08-11 16:07:06 +0000 UTC]

gif images require a preview image. there's no way around it

Thank you so much! But do you have a recommended time for blinking?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EROCKERTORRES In reply to BiteSizedSinner [2014-07-30 17:46:29 +0000 UTC]

Blinking I've heard is best at 45fps but it also depends on how the frames are made. Blinking is a really quick action. usually drawn in only a few frames. Keep in mind a human usually blinks in .25 seconds.Β

This equates to an average display rate of 25 fps for an Β animation with blinking only being a few of those 25 frames per second.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

EROCKERTORRES In reply to ElementalUniverse [2014-02-17 23:30:38 +0000 UTC]

well first you need to have each frame of the gif. Ones that when combined, create the movement. Then follow these instructionsΒ

I don't mean to be a bother, but do you know why the little box that pops up in Step 7 didn't pop up when I export my file as a gif? It has worked previously on my laptop, but it doesn't pop up now. Now using it on my computer, it doesn't work but at all. All it says is "Help Export Cancel." [Which is the same three options it provides you when saving a file as a .png.] Whenever I save my work as a .gif, and view it, there is one still picture displayed. I understand if you do not have the time to answer this, or that you have no clue how to fix it yourself... Thank you for reading this, if you do.~

Hiya! Sorry if this is super old and you already found out what happened, butΒ

1. when the pop up comes up do you click on Export? Or have you tried clicking on Export?

2. Are you sure you are choosing the "export to.." option and not the "save as" or "save" option?

3. are all your unhidden layers image files? like .pngs or .jp(e)gs? did you save each frame as an individual image and added them into a new gimp instance as layers? (e.g. "open as layers")

4. could there be any GIMP plugins you downloaded that are messing with your .gif exporting? or did you even download any extra GIMP plugins?

I really need help. I tried putting like 5000 secs, 50 secs, 500 secs and more. But everytime I look at the playback of it it still stays really fast and I can't change it. I already exported it as Gif image and everything else that is on the instructions but its just the Milliseconds I'm stuck on. Do you think you could help? If you can I would really appreciate it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

z0mdee In reply to Angie12138 [2014-01-22 09:08:31 +0000 UTC]

This is totes old and you probably already found a fix, but the I know for GIMP the playback isn't affected by the different values, and you'd just have to save it and look at the image itself.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

EROCKERTORRES In reply to Angie12138 [2013-08-18 05:24:49 +0000 UTC]

the only thing I can suggest is using another program like Quicktime Player to view it. If you're using Gimp itself to view the gif, it usually won't play at the speed you saved it at.
