I'm going for the whole super uber duper detail effect, so I'm just getting started, expect my submissions to lean a little more in this direction henceforth.THanks for any advice/criticism you might have ahead of time, if you suggest something I'll probably either do it on this one or the next so please say something to make this more detailed friends!!

This is great. The amount of detail inthe armour is fantastic and really adds a lot of interest to the picture.All the little beads and chainsand trinkets really add to the overall viewing value

Well, since I don't know the back story ofthe character my suggestions may bepointless but... does he have any weapons? Sword, belt, scabbard, gun, bullets,... provisions? Backpack, food, extra clothes,tent etc...
Also, the bark on the tree could hold hundreds of little details, knots and creeping vines little plants growing in big knots,bird nests etc. The skin of the troll again, since it's not likely to be smooth is a blank canvas ready for lots of little details. Also, what is going on in the background behind the tree? While grass can be great if you want lots of detail, too much detail in grass might overpower the foreground.
Hopefully I at least gave yousomething to think on!

yes indeed!! I hadn't even thought of little vines and vegetation on the bark! thanks... I was thinking him A mAGICIAN BUT A LITTLE TOY LIKE GUN HANGING FROM A STRAP ON HIS BAG ( which I made bigger) would toottaly be cute!! wow.. did that sound gay?

Well your character has plenty of accersories and what not. More detail like feathers and stuff to the birds, if thats what they are. You have plenty of detail and stuff done with the person there, just work on the stuff around him.
