Description
This is *madhatterkyoko 's lovely OC Nia for her contest: [link]I drew her with a spear instead of nunchuks since apparently her weapon can alternate between them?
Ughhhh, it feels like I haven't drawn anything more intricate than a loose sketch in forever.

Woww, the clouds look super sexy and good job on the colors!!
Not sure if you want critique, but I would have made her face/upper body area the brightest/most saturated part to make it really pop out. Now my eyes always wander to her hip area o0 Or you might have been going for that "light from below" thing, I don't know

Woww, thanks!
xD, I'm up for critique! Yeah, that's definitely a concern. I had been going for the light from below thing, which is why her skirts are the brightest, but that doesn't mean her face should be obscured. xD. I just didn't really find a nice way to do highlights and whatnot to make her face stand out too.

I like the composition of it. The colors complement each other well. The feet feels a bit unnatural to me. But the scenic background really brings a peaceful or contemplative element. Looks good yo!

Thank you! The colors were really fun to do. I just messed around with overlay until I found something I liked and then painted over it.
Yeah.... I was having a lot of trouble with the legs. Like, I was trying to make it seem that one leg (the brightly lit one) was behind the other, but then they ended up seeming to end on the same line so it doesn't really look that way, and the shading on the ground doesn't really add perspective. OTL

No problem! You made a very nice and flexible contest.

I do like to think it was a benefit that it's flexible, but I think a good deal of people were scared off by my contest's open-endedness. owo;
But I'm glad you weren't!

Oh, that's unfortunate. Personally I prefer it when there are more choices... that just means I get to do whatever I want, haha.

Plus, it is more fun with less boundaries, in my opinion. :>
