She looks really like a vampire here. Maybe it's the contrast of the skin. She's pale and has a hypnotic pose. Her eyes are alluring and with that devious smile she looks to have a dangerous side. I like the color compliments the orange breaks up the blue nicely. I also like the way you threw in texture to the color. Has a sandy quality, so it's not all just smooth and silk like. Looks coo!

xD, thanks! Yeah, I was looking through a lot of Touhou Castlevania art when making this... The style's so cool, and I wanted to try to emulate it (didn't work too well, but w/e) but anyway, somehow all the characters look like vampires. It's great. xD
I dunno, I think the lighting and colors together makes it seem a bit gaudy... Maybe a lighter background would have made it less of an eyesore.

I see what you mean. It's just you made the background blue pop more then the foreground. The lack of highlights/external light source on the clothing there gives it a negative space feel. It's not bad, but it lacks definition when you step back from the image. It's the black hole of the picture. But when you look at it up close you see all the detail. It's a perception thing.

I'm not even entirely sure that's the problem... As in, I see what you mean but I think the red's more the culprit. Either the red's too saturated or bright or something compared to that blue... it doesn't seem to quite fit. xD
