Hey guys!JUST FOR FUN,
Instead of asking "Why you like KiMa" or "Proofs of KiMa"
This just poop out of my head while I was working, What if after Soul Eater Not, there is a new season and Atsushi Ōkubo suddenly asked
"Why should it be a KiMa? and not Soul&Maka/Kid&Liz/Kid&Patti?"
What would you answer to convince him?

Please leave out the "Because they are just so cute together" (I know this might sound harsh and all, but If you were an author and there is more SoMa or what ever pairing out there who demands that it should be that way instead of KiMa, you wouldn't take that answer right?)
Arghh... I know this is kinda serious and might crack our brains... but Hehe my Brain is going haywire again xD

First, not SoMa because they are different and they don't have a romantic relationship, their relationship is more like brother and sister relationship. KiMa, because they have some things in common. Kid is one of the best students like Maka. Kid doesn't rush in stupidity , he thinks before he does something like Maka does. Unlike Soul who rushes without thinking(not always but he did it several times). Maka's and Kid's relationship is on a friend faze,although Kid many times in anime stands close to Maka.

Some of these points might be wrong as I have only watched the whole Anime and not much of the Manga but I have some. (Btw me and my friend are doing this and she hasn't seen much of Soul Eater but is a loyal KiMa already and she brings up really good points)
SoMa - We don't see SoMa working because they never show romantic feelings towards each other but they do act like they trust each other with their lives but that's normal right? Plus what kind of meister and weapon duo would they be if they didn't? As far as we know or we've just forgotten, Soul and Maka never make any physical contact besides attempting resonance, saving or helping each other. Some people ship SoMa because they live with each other but that is ridiculous, because they NEED to live together in order to do their duties as every other main meister and weapon(s)(B*S and Tsubaki and Kid, Liz and Patty).We know that this one has been said a lot but if Soul really did love Maka, he wouldn't insult her.He NEVER compliments her appearance once, and that makes her feel uncomfortable. Some people also say when Soul gets turned on by Blair, Maka gets annoyed because she's jealous and wants Soul's attention for herself (that may not be accurate but it's on the same lines). She's actually afraid of Soul leaving her alone and gallivanting off with Blair as she hates to be alone. That's all the points we thought of that half-wasn't brought up (we think).
KiMa - This isn't a really ground-changing point but in episode 6 or book 2 of the manga, Maka says that Kid has OCD but how did she know about it if they've never met before that? (Shout out to my friend who I've moved away from who came up with this, I miss you!) Perhaps they've met before but somehow forgot? There is nothing that suggests they've met before as far as we know. Another point is the KiMa stares that are officially canon. Sometimes when people have crushes on each other they stare at each other (that actually happens), and in no pictures we've seen are Soul and Maka staring at each other. Also, Kid is the only one that does not make fun of her (although this card has been brought to the table), However this point is not as strong as the others as he doesn't make fun of anyone's looks. Don't say the whole Liz and Patti's breasts thing because he was complaining about the lack of symmetry, thus he wasn't making fun of them. One other thing is that in the Lust Chapter in the Book of Eibon, Soul did not look like Maka at all, she's most likely a tomboy and Soul looked like a complete girly-girl, and the breast size thing means nothing. We won't bring up the fact that Maka looked like Kid as that's been said ten thousand times.
Um... we wont do why Kid won't work with the Thompsons as it'll be too long.
One more thing; pray that another season of Soul Eater will happen instead of another NOT and that Okhubo will add at least SOME more interaction between the two as it's very painful that they don't interact as much as most of us want them to .

Looking back there's not much more to say, other than if you've ever read Naruto, and you've followed the development of Sakura, she's an example about a character who's romance develops from infatuation to actual love. It's very hard to explain, but basically, anyone who is like or understands how Sakura acts (preferably as an adult) or understands why Sasuke never got close to anyone, would be able to comprehend why Maka and Soul would not work. Soul doesn't understand Maka in the way that she needs, and it really seems to come down to Trust.

I used to hip SoMa because... Meh. Canon. But after Soul started calling er "Flat-chested" I stopped because thats not how you treat someone you love, nor is it cute. And I think Maka would need to be in a relationship were she felt stable and sturdy, and wouldn't be made fun of. That's why I think Maka and Kid would be great together because Kid would accept her insecurities and TRY to make her feel good about herself.

I dislike how the fandom says Soul insulting Maka's chest is 'cute'. He's pulling at her insecurities, and I think that if she dated him it would make her feel bad. While I think that Maka and Soul can have an amazing friendship, I can't see the two of them romantically because Maka wouldn't be that comfortable in a relationship where her boyfriend didn't find her attractive. The only person I can only slightly consider Maka with is Kid because I think he could call her beautiful and mean it.

I agree with your points on this pairing ! (except beating up the author if he doesn't make it canon hehe ) That's something soma fans do to pretty much the whole fandom. Anyways, a lot of kima shippers point out in the manga how Maka looked like kid in the lust chapter (if you haven't read the manga yet, check it out!) you'll see why!

Really? I never really talked or see how SoMa fans interact before. Don't get me wrong, I see the arts but never really see how they talk about their ship.
Oh! I already see the manga! I was really paying attention to Soul to see any resemblance to Maka and found NONE. I am still trying to find out why other says that the genderbent Soul looks like Maka (aside from the breasts size 'cause that is..... stupid. SORRY! for saying that!)
But after reading Soul Eater Not, I can see a great resemblance where Soul looks like Anastasia Yngling a.k.a Anya Hepburn.
And of course, We all can see that Maka looks neat, has poise, like a gentlemen here and who else is that? *ding ding ding!* Right! It is Kid! (Haha, from what I remember there is also a fanfic here where the girls tell Maka that she is like the Light version of Kid)
Honestly, After I saw Maka switch gender the first thing I said was "ASDFGHJKL! SHE LOOKS LIKE KKIIIIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDDD!!!!" (just sad 'cause they can't point it out instead how she is 'undeveloped')

I find it important that Ohkubo never showed how Kid looked. Who knows what kind of lady he's interested in xD.
The he story of soul eater is largely underdeveloped. I joke sometimes that he uses Maka's chest to symbolize his writing ability xD

I think it is also because of the picture that Ohkubo published after the manga was done "Maka and Soul when a little bit older" I mean, from all of the volumes, there is that one picture where Maka has a different hair style.
Yeah, but Ohkubo is okay for me. I just wished instead of making Soul Eater not why not a Second season of it? (and sorry to say this but I still prefer the animation of SE than SE Not. They no longer look BA! )
I never checked out Tumblr for SoMa, (Loyal KiMa here Hahaha LOL, but I must say I like how Z-Raid creates the pairing of Maka and Asura) and you are right! If he turns out of either the girls I know fangirls (including me) would go haywire.

For me Ohkubo is super awesome, but super not awesome at the same time. And you're right! The original anime just doesn't compare to NOT. Did you hear about the new mobile game they're gonna release?! It's in Japanese but it looks cool!
