Description
It was a very cold morning. The freezing air penetrated every wall, tree and surface, anything it could inhabit it did. Frost and ice covered every surface, creating natural mirrors that reflected the world in a hazy and tinted manner, the sun shined brighter in those still pools. Gleaming snow covered tree branches from tip to toe; it was ghostly like the most of delicate of spider webs. The wind did not disturb them only made them dance to silent melody. All of this beauty was however left unseen. The natural majesty that created this winter wonderland also kept everyone at bay, shut behind closed doors. Cocooned in their duvets they slept, it was no lengthy hibernation but a way to pass the coldest hours of the day.
Despite the chill the streets were not completely empty, and one presence in particular remained outside. It was not a brave soul wrapped in many warm layers seeking the cleansing qualities of the day but a cat. Her coat a match to the colour of the snow. She sat where shade of the trees did not touch her; she was bathed in the bright rays of the sun. The cat sat there unmoving, her eyes almost closed and a feline smile of the outmost pleasure spread on her little face.
This was the life, not a single moment was disturbed. All remained quiet, so still it rivalled a frozen pond. The cat smelled the crispness of the air, her breath came out it little puffs of steam and her eyes slowly reopened. The world looked as wonderful as it smelt, so pure and fresh.
A common misunderstanding spread throughout the people that when the snow fell the world slept but the cat knew better, it was pretence; the world was awake but dreaming.
The cat stirred, shaking off snowflakes that have landed on her fur, and bounded away. Her feline steps were graceful, fast but not too quick. She glanced around, wanting to be sure that she was not being followed by any preying eyes.
Her steps were taking her out of the quiet village, further into the wild of frosty fields. Once in the open she let the freedom surge through her as she ran with all of her might. The cat run through the snow, her paw marks outlined deeply in the crisp white snow, maybe miraculously they will never disappear and remain there as a reminder of the beauty in the world . Her strong muscles worked with elegance and in no time took her to her destination.
The cat halted by a frozen puddle, a place quite ordinary. She meowed at it and with her claw she scratched the frozen surface of the puddle. A strange light appeared beneath the water, it grew and spread. But the cat sat still, unbothered by the strange occurrence. When the light stopped growing the cat jumped into the light and the frozen puddle, and disappeared.
At this strange disappearance the quiet village began to wake up.

I love the little world you created. A quiet winter day in a sleepy village, and the cat is the focus, a very neat idea. You do have a few tensing issues (using run instead of ran for example). Other than that a very cool snippet of what could be a very different kind of story.
