In addition to politely asking you, like everyone else has, not to hold any rodent (or any animal actually!) by its tail like that, a little tip. If you need to pick up a rodent but are afraid of it biting you or whatever, you can pick it up by the loose skin at the scruff of its neck without causing any pain. It's how their mothers carried them.

Like everyone else has said... you should never ever hold a mouse by their tail that way! It's very uncomfortable for the mouse to be held that way and often causes them to panic. Not only is it mean to the mouse, but it can also cause injury.

You should hold it by the very base of the tail if you're going to hold it that way. Lovely mouse though

5 seconds or not, it's incredibly painful, sometimes their tails even snap.

yea, please don't pick the little squeakers up by the tail

Remember that the tail of a mouse is quite sensitive, it can't hold the weight of a mouse all the time and the spine can be easily injured if you always hold the mouse like that

Anyway, the mouse looks adorable

Don't ever hold a mouse by the tail because they're too fragile for that. It could break, or the sinews could crack.
