Description
A piece I started some time ago. This grew out of a simple inspirational portrait in to a full blown action shot, with it's own story and background.
I imagined what an apprentice mage would look like in the heat of battle. This inspired the moderate clothes, the staff and the posture and face expression.
After all, you won't see an apprentice with exceptional gear or standing calmly wile casting. I wanted to show the fear and anger in both the face and posture, like she was scared but still pressing forward on anger alone.
I might have gone overboard with the effects and post processing, but only time will tell.
