Description
So yesterday was Pokemon's 20th anniversary and for fun I decided to do doodles of my favorite pokemon from each generation. I learned I'm not particularly good at drawing pokemon, but thankfully none of my favorites were too nightmarishly difficult to do.

From gen 1 is Haunter. Haunter's been my favorite pokemon since I was six years old, and I can't even recall why. It might be because I thought the floating hands looked really cool, or it might be because of the one in the anime. I'm not sure, but it's always stuck with me that it's my favorite. My runners up for gen 1 favorites are Kadabra, Machamp and both of the Hitmons.

My favorite in gen 2 is Xatu because when I was younger and I first saw the full set of gen 2 pokemon (via pokemon stadium 2 because I didn't have a game boy at that time) Xatu was one of the weirdest looking ones, in a time where most of the pokemon that existed had pretty standard designs save for a couple, and Xatu's colorful robe-looking wings and it's big blank staring eyes always stuck with me. Psychic is also one of my favorite types, and there aren't a whole lot of psychic pokemon that debuted in gen 2 that I'm really fond of. My other favorites for gen 2 include Umbreon, Scizor and Cyndaquil.

In gen 3 my favorite is Mawile, but it wasn't always like that. I only really started liking it later on, when I had one in gen 6. Mega Mawile is also one of my top mega evolutions, incidentally. My favorite from when I originally played gen 3 was Gardevoir, because I raised one to lvl 100 from a lvl 3 Ralts and to this day I have yet to hit the cap with any other pokemon. That kind of accomplishment sticks with you when you're eleven years old.

I haven't played more than 15 minutes of any gen 4 game, so I don't really have a lot of affinity for most of the pokemon in it. Bonsly is my favorite from that gen mostly because of the one in the anime, and how you can drop them on people's heads to get kills in Smash Bros Brawl. The only other pokemon I really like that debuted in gen 4 is Palkia.

My favorite in gen 5 is Sawk because the one I had in Black helped carry me through nearly the entire game. When I played gen 5 I also nicknamed all of my pokemon, which is something I only started doing on that game and haven't really stopped since, so that probably helped me develop an attachment to my Sawk, which was named Spiegel after Spike Spiegel. My other favorite in gen 5 is Lilligant, which I'm still mad I was never able to get in Black without trading.

And finally my favorite in gen 6 is Hawlucha. It wasn't really hard to pick a favorite out of the Kalos pokemon because honestly I only really like maybe three of the ones they introduced that gen. I have a fondness for pro wrestling and luchadores, so Hawlucha is perfect for me. And the one in Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon makes a Hulk Hogan reference when you talk to it the first time and that also endeared it to me. My second favorite in gen 6 is Honedge, but I'm pretty sure that one is pretty popular among a lot of people anyway.

So yeah this basically turned into a rambling journal with some pictures attached to it. Happy 20 years
