Sunset at Tahoe Meadows boardwalk. It's snowing a little and the wooden path is frozen over in black ice.

This is a really beautiful scene that is just so picturesque. A very good example of brilliant photography.
The idea behind this photo is not a very original concept as having paths lead the viewer through the photograph is a very common theme, especially in nature photography. A lack of originality doesn't make me think any less of this photograph as I think it's difficult to come up with an original shot.
It is a very well taken photograph. It's clear and sharp and all the elements in it are well balanced. I like the gentle warmth from the sky that makes the path glow and how the path leads you into to image and how it leads you to a beautiful explosion of colour in the sky.
Overall a gorgeous image. Keep up the good work.

Difficult walking on iced boardwalks! Some of them around where I live have chicken-wire laid on em' to prevent slipping; it's not an attractive solution, though

The water fall images are at the base of the mountain we hiked (Rose Knob Peak).

So in simple terms, when exiting your house into your backyard, the waterfall is right beside the doorstep and Rose Knob Peak is at the back-gate? :>
On a more serious note: So the waterfall emerges from one of the little creeks we passed on the hike?

This is hilarious! It's actually somewhat true. If you look at Incline on a topo map, you will see that it is in a bowl with the outer rim being the mountains, or my "Back Gate" and the waterfall area is at the door step of where the houses start in town.
