A very cold looking bronze sculpt, but damn,, thats good! So much emotion and dead type feeling you have achieved here. This is an amazing sculpt Evan!

Opposite of emotion?

I guess that is a strange way for me to phrase it...more like lack of feelings.

Remarkable.
You certainly allowed the media to tell the story.

hmmm, very cold indeed.
i love the concept, though i like to think they died in love, its hard to think that given they are inbedded in ice, intense cold has never been a classic way for lovers to die, but considering its an older couple and the implications on the old "cold bath/cold shower" cliche' leads me to think perhaps this is a representation of the death of sexual intimacy and the feeling of immobility or entrapment in said relationship... artistic analysis aside, it has elements of classic tragedy, with an almost mafia like twist...
beautiful workmanship.

What a great message and thanks for taking the time to really think about my work! I love when someone can give me insights to my art. You are dead on with your interpretation...and Mafia like twist is not only very interesting but probably some truth to that idea.

well you conveyed your concept well, but i always did love analysing, and art is the perfect outlet for such an activity. and your welcome, to be honest it was a relief to find something that actually needed interpretation, as opposed to all this pop art thats taking over DA because it looks pretty.
art is loosing value, good to see someone keeping it alive.

OH! i love! you know, no one does sculpture anymore that deals with the forms of the human body. what ever happened to the Michaelangelo artwork mind set? keep the good work up!

What did you cast this in? Not only do you have an amazing vision as an artist but to be able to execute something like this you must be an amazing metal smith.
Good Job, seriously. love it.

That's really interesting.. I like sculptures taht show real people and feelings and I'm sick of amorphic shapes that lots of people create. So I'm suprised seeing it (: Great work.

I don't know if that crack across the top was deliberate, but in a weird way it makes the sculpture work for me.

EvanCampbell In reply to Varris [2007-12-29 01:31:57 +0000 UTC]
It was deliberate and intended as a key element.

That's an interesting point with sculpture. Size does play a part. What sort of size is your work generally Evan?
