based off a similar looking DNA strand shown in an animation at[link]
I saw their 2chan animation that had a small segment of DNA spinning for a second and i thought it'd be neat to try to replicate it.
no tutorial, no help, just a bit of thinking and tweeking with the frames. I applied this small flash movie to a website layout i'm doing currently. i'll post the layout sometime later when i'm further along than i am now.

nope. good ol' fashioned tweening. But because each 'rung' of the latter had to start off 5 frames later than the previous to creat the twisting effect, i had to make individual movies, open them up, split them into individual frames and move the frames back and forth so they all started 5 frames later than the previous one while still starting at the same time...
i dont know crap about actionscript besides stop goto and play and such, so i gotta do it the hard way ^^
