At first I didn't like this portrait at all. However, over time I have come accustomed to viewing it, and now it is one of my favorites. I was going through a time of confusion-- about love of course... but yeah thank you for the comment

I like the sepia-ish warm palette and your expression is very emotive. Really nice photography!

the angst here is so strong, it pulled me in. sephia tone was a great choice here and i cannot critique much at all! i only think the name so big over the front takes away from it. that is it, though. it is a beautiful shot

hmmm i see your photgraphy is based on the tone and orientation, but if you step back and look at it, its sorta just the same picture each time but with a slightly different turn of the head, your outdoor photgraphy though is nice, but your self portraits could use more essence, like....... add more stuff too it, or take away more, right now its basically just your face and hair, hmmmmmmm, yeah i see your out door photgraphy and your photgraphy of other subjects are varied, i think if you varry yor self portraits as much as those other subjects you will add much more to what you can already do

kinda... But it take courage to take those portraits. Do you have any ideas. Plus, doesn't matter on which camera you use?

EdgeFx1 In reply to evilpixie21083 [2006-01-11 02:54:14 +0000 UTC]

well what type of portraits? and as for camera, i dont think it really matters, once you kow the basics of any camera you can do the same with a digital camera and an SLR but the point and shoot cameras limit you to a generic infinity focuse type pic, with DOF you can get awesom but simple effects liek blurring and what not

the angle is great. The blur/movement is a little unconventional but it draws the veiwer to the eyes. I like the expression used and I like your signature. I don't like the border type you've used and I don't like the colourization.

Hmm... I like the softness of it, and the washed out old colours. It's a very warm monochrome(ish, or close to it) colour scale and that's pleasing... It's like... those old photographs that you forget somewhere and find years after. Many of the photos that I see from the 70s and so, have this particular tone... And here it makes me nostalgic (even if I wasn't quite born then yet ) The softness unfortunately makes it a little fuzzy, too, (or then just too soft, hard to focus) but... I don't think it's that noticeable outside the full view. The normal looks quite fine. Good emotive portrait!

evilpixie21083 In reply to LauraMaybrooke [2005-12-30 15:44:22 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for your beautiful comment. This is my favorite photograph of myself. The fuzzines is due to the camera because, to be frank, I didn't use a flash and so when I don't my camera (due to my shaking hand) becomes out of focus. This is why I need to get a new camera. But anyway, the fuzziness was because of that and I was not sure how to fix that on photoshop. I am an ammature on both photography and photoshop. I never had anyone to teach me.

I don't know much about them, either, Photoshop or photography. Don't do photography, actually, and only use Photoshop for colour... But yeah... still a good photo, it is.

Oh WOw! I never even thought of that. I didn't do much to edit it,all I did was a duotone. my camera did the softness for me, which at first I wasn't too happy about it. Thank you so much for you comment.

I like the softness as well, however, it seems a little washed out to me; there isn't enough contrast in this pic. Also, the pic seems to of suffered from some quality loss when you saved it; I see a lot of pixelation and "fuzzies."

evilpixie21083 In reply to gdpr-1159232 [2005-12-29 05:41:41 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. however, I did not mean for it to be 'fuzzyh" but I do like the "not enough" contrast. I don't know why I just like the softness. Thank you though your opinnion. It helps me a lot when doing future deviantions.
