She is a complex character. I should get a summarized writeup of her posted someday.
In very short, she is a sorceress, magic not science based. Very intelligent/sneaky.. blonde, not red, .. taken on Goddesses.. plays a lot of mind tricks.. nimble. But most of all.. she usually fights battles on her terms (preplan/homeground advantage)

The muscle spasms induced by electric shock on a mere human is enough to feel like ligaments and tendons are ripping away from bone. I imagine it's infinitely more excruciating when those muscles are superhuman.

Jezebel, the heroine of Jackie Kessler's "Hell" series ran afoul of a wood nymph in a short story Kessler put out recently and got her head handed to her, so to speak. Needed her mortal boyfriend to come to her rescue in an absolutely delightful scene. Apparently Sylvene isn't the only nymph to kick some butt.

Hmmmm......I never really thought about that. In recent years, vampiresses, female werewolves, and succubi have gained a decent amount of respect. Even clowns have had a bit of an uprising, not to mention that a lady zombie has her own tv show.
I think it's about time the sirens,faeries,nymphs and such got some recognition.

It was one of the little stories me and my other half talked about but never put to paper (The Nymph-liberation Squad). Partially based off Sylvene's grove which is a refuge for many endangered fae/magical folk. AfterΒ a while they repay the debt by helping defend the grove as one unit.
At least with werewolves, vamps, succubi - they are blessed with strength. This is an army of (roughly) subhuman strength women.. much more challenging

Mmmmmm.....fair point. Sylvene's crushing and cruel defeat of Athena had more to do with cleverly utilizing her prey's overconfidence in Her own power than anything that could be called "prowess".
