EDIT: now wif bows, folks!

My first originally designed and made piece of clothing. Just a pair of Victorian-style undies to put under cutsie skirts and Alice-styled dresses. ^.^ I'm really adoring how well they turned out. I had the idea of bloomers pasted in my head after completing 's Holiday picture of the White Rabbit. I got SO many compliments on the costume design of the piece...and that got me to thinking... People LIKE the ruffled skirts. Check. And they love the BLOOMERS. But who honestly WEARS bloomers anymore?
No one, that's who!
So I got to thinking again...
that what if I made a pair of these prissy pantaloons...
...
Maybe I've started something, who knows?

Again, I'm overly pleased with how well they turned out. They rather look like something my original character, Melinda, would wear. ^.^ I partially used a pattern for shorts, but later made alterations and changes to give the bloomers their look--like using the elastic to puff out the legs and sewing in the lacey bottoms. I'm still not positive if I'm done--as tomorrow, we're going shopping and I might end up getting some cute little ribbons and bows to sew onto the sides, just to add a little bit extra pizzaz. I'll update the picture accordingly if I do make any extra changes. ^_^
I honestly can't wait to wear these with my Alice dresses. I just went to Hottopic yesterday and bought an adorable Alice dress, a pair of over-the-knee black and white striped socks, and blouse with puffy sleeves and little black bows and lace.

I know. I'm a freak.
