I have to admit I hesitated to upload this art here due to the more mature level of the subject. Normally I prefer to keep my characters clothed or draped, but with this piece I felt tacking on covering after the fact would be disingenuous and only detract from the piece. Thus, it is tagged mature for mild nudity, however there is nothing actually "shown," just side/rear view of the chest and rear!
There's definitely things I would change if I were to start over on this piece... It's hard to tell she's in pain from her posture. I'd re-do it with her farther crouched over, something a bit more dramatic. Also, find a way to simulate scale texture without going insane. @_@ However, for what it is I am satisfied. It helped me rediscover a bit of my style and experiment with methods that are both faster and preserve more of my flow in the finished piece.

I've been looking for the story related to these drawings, and found nothing. Do you know what site I can find the Dragoncursed stories on? I'm just curious about the interesting stories that seem to come from these images.

Afraid there's no online story for the drawings available right now. It all exists in AIM chat logs somewhere, hopefully on my external drive, but they are not formatted in any way for reading. Even then, they're very incomplete stories, and most of my art aren't directly related to them, they're just from the basic setting in general. It's one of those things I'm bouncing around in the back of my head a lot. If it'll eventually become anything larger and more finished will depend on time and inspiration! Thank you

This is one of the best Dragon Transformations I've ever seen! The colouring is excellent and the lines near the fingers/toes are perfect!

Definately getting an 'An American Werewolf in London' feel from this image. Or worse, the 1981 version of 'The Thing'. We can't see her face, and thus can only speculate on how much it's changed, or what expression is on it right now, and that ups the scariness a bit imo. Imagine actually being there to witness it, Tanis cries out in pain/anguish, falls to knees, turns away and braces herself against the wall until her wings have finally grown out to whatever extend they intend to grow out to, and, went she finally turns and looks back at you, weeping, Tanis' face ISN'T Tanis' face anymore.
BTW, is there a reason why she's naked in this picture aside from showing the extent/detail of the transformation better? Was she wearing clothes and managed to strip in time when she felt the changes start, or does she even bother to wear clothes at this point since it would be almost impossible to hide what she is? I suspect that she managed to strip in time, since the major unchanged part of her body is her torso, covering up with, say, a tunic and skirt combo would still be both modest and practical.

Hmm, do you mean the in-story cause, or the design-inspiration of the drawing itself? 
As for the drawing, I'm actually not using much lizard references, I'm basing the dragon parts (thus far) largely on feline and avian anatomy. My friend has a hairless cat that has these crazy webbed hand-like paws that make perfect dragon paws! Add modified claws that are almost a bit more dinosaur-like and voila!

I can tell you that it's full dragons, I've only mostly been drawing the earlier stages of the curse. The later stages are REALLY awkward going from bipedal to quadrupedal.

My only gripe with this is that it's a bit difficult to see what kind of emotional state she's in. Is she in pain? Accepting? But other than that, this is a truly great tf-piece, with wonderful colors, details and composition. Keep up the great work.

Not dead! Tanis is one of those characters that often pops up in my sketchbook when I'm doodling just head-shots. I just haven't created anything really finished for them in a while until now.

Hm... on the pose if you move her knees back just a bit from the wall and have one of her hands actuall gouching the wall.
But overall, she's shown plenty of emotion as her new wings painfully make their debue

Yeah, I really should've been drawing the background/environment at the same time I was drawing the pose in order to better render both of them. I'll work on practicing for next time. Thank you very much for the suggestions!
