Description
"Sheriff! We just got a report that there has been a robbery at the Last Thread Saloon! They paralyzed Barkeep Vinny and emptied the safe! Witnesses say the culprit was female, had three tagmata, four wings and carried one heck of a stinger! Call me crazy but I think it's this lady from the posters!""You're not crazy, deputy, but she certainly is. *sigh* Looks like Hawk is back in town and causin' even more trouble. Load your cannons and saddle up, deputy, cause it looks like it's huntin' time..."

What is the Halloween season without spiders?! Spiders wearing costumes (kinda)! Some time ago I got looking at tarantulas and their big hairy faces brought to mind an old western sheriff. And who better to help our fine sheriff out then the Lone Star Tick?! To be honest, this thought of old western arachnids may have gotten me on one of my binges...

Dang, now i want to play a game or see a movie, or at least a universe where small animals, arthropods, arachnids, insects, small (and bigger) animals and bugs live in Old West-like settings like here, with the necessary additions and alterations to make the world more convincing and logical for the animals to live in. With these possibly as the main characters just because of the way they talk and with the voices i imagine them speaking and all the stuff they're doing at once with their arms and such. I guess i just want to see more of 'em
To heck with RDR2: i want to see these two fun-looking arachnids getting involved with all kinds o' shenanigans in ye Olde West-feels like i'm mixing up some things there in terms of historical periods...
Closest things to that would be the animated movie Rango, and even then insects are barely seen, and Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars, though that's mostly because of the different perspective of the world.

It would definitely be cool to see something like that, but yeah, I think Rango is the closest you are going to get for that sort of thing. I feel that such a world would totally have these two as the main characters, as Old Western stuff usually follows the sheriffs and law enforcement folk. Thankfully I do have some more stuff drawn up involving the Old West and arachnids! Those will show up soon!

Well, if one wants to see something, they can easily draw it themselves. Maybe one day i will try my hand at arachnid desperados or something of the like.
And i've seen the new image! I absolutely love the both of them, i think it's kind of cute to see arachnids like that!

You should try it out sometime! It would be like a western version of Magnus! And thanks!

That would be fun! He could be something along the lines of a funeral undertaker, on account of wearing a top hat and Voodoo culture being most known for its Loa of Death, Baron Samedi. Either that or just a stylish-looking bandit. He'd look pretty stylish with a waistcoat, i reckon.
and you are very welcome, dude!

your getting better about following the shape of a thing with your pencil strokes.
But you let it get away from you a bit on the buggy on the left' abdominal scutes. I think it was strongest on the up one from the bottom most one. the rest feel kinda janky all scritchy scritchy vertical like that.
an excercise that might help you out.
Try drawing 'contour lines ' on everything in the color it needs to be then slowly fill in those lines with more contour lines till the color is solid. Should help you bring the three dimensional form of your pieces out more instead of flattening them out like you tend to do.

Thanks! Contour lines, eh? I will have to give that a shot sometime! Thank you for the advice!

...Okay, now I'm imagining one of those symbiotic frogs as another deputy of the Sheriff, maybe the guy who keeps the books in order.

Either they keep the books, or they are the ones who sit behind a desk and watch over the place while the others are out on the job!

The Dotted Humming Frog in South America is known to have a symbiotic relationship with the Colombian Lesserblack Tarantula, where the frog is allowed to stay in the spider's burrow for safety while the amphibian eats smaller invertebrates that may prey on the spider's eggs. I have not drawn anything based on them yet.

they say spiders are scary, not anymore to me... they look kind of cute if you look at their multiple beady eyes.
i wonder if you have done a Peacock Spider creature in your gallery?, if not then do one.
