Description This is a fun interactive piece that gets the majority of its data by relating object positions to your cursor's location.

There are a series of random properties that add a bit of depth to this piece.

Object color
Object color fade
Background color
Object shape
Displacement style
Rotation
Scale

Click anywhere inside the flash display area to generate a new random version.

This is a very CPU intensive application. If the framerate slows down for you, try clicking on the [H] [M] [L] buttons to change the quality level.

I hope you enjoy it!

Yeah, something about how DA is embedding the file is not working. It worked back when it was first uploaded. Could also be a conflict with newer flash plugins. It's pretty old.

Thats a rather cool effect. I would love to see what would happen if there was a smaller area of effect for the mouse, but it took longer for the cells to return to their original state.

Ive dont some work on colour transitions (its a bit buggy at the moment), that might also transfer quite nicely to this piece. Contact me if you want to discuss.

Again, good job.

that's not bad. I've made something similar myself that does all sorts of transforms but still stays fairly speedy. I tend to use it for menu systems - if you fancy swapping notes drop me a line

Very cool fx.

I sit slow ?? not for me.

These kinda fx would be great over images to do a kindof slow reveal. I love these kinda things too.

Would animated objects drag it down too much ??

Did you have a purpose in mind or just making a kinda etchasketch thing for fun ?

Animation could be done, but it would tax on the framerate a bit. In the end it all depends on the CPU speed of the computer it's being viewed on.

I don't really have any intended use for this application. It was mostly just an experiment, taking a concept I had seen elsewhere and improving upon it. Any suggestions or criticism is welcome.

I'm always looking for ways to expand upon my creations, or for ideas for new ones.

That's totally cool... some very nice stuff in there (the randomness only increases the amount of coolness)

Uhm... here at work I have a crappy computer so the animation is hell slow.... I'll check it again at home... anyway it looks very psychedelic

Thanks for reminding me! I forgot to add that some of these effects are _very_ CPU intensive. When you have the objects with many vector lines (like the "1" and "0" blocks) and add all the layering with alpha and the color fading, it can rally crunch down hard on your CPU. The color fading aspect really eats the CPU quick, as you have each block constantly getting its new color value about 18 times a second. Its color then changes based on a randomly generated 300 color spectrum that fades between 2 colors (one color being close to the mouse, the other being far).
