Description
I buried my head deeper into the straw in my nest, hoping that it would block out noise... To no avail. Eevee squeals were heard even upstairs- Shrieks of joy echoed through the closed door. Sighing, with straw still caught on my horn, I padded downstairs, making sure not to fall.I lived in a cave, dug into the face of a giant cliff in the shape of a Sharpedo. Along this walkway, it was opened right to the sea, with little protection to stop you from skidding right over the edge. It just goes to show how rash I am, buying such an unsafe home. At least it was a bargain. No one else wanted it.
I speedwalked the rest of the way into the middle room to an exasperating sight. Three Eevee hanging off the ladder that leads upstairs to the Town Square, two tumbling down the opposite walkway, two play- fighting, and two throwing Oran Berries at each other.
I cleared my throat. "Guys, settle down." I said as an Oran Berry was flung at another Eevee.
"EVERYONE. Please SETTLE DOWN." I repeated.
The nine rambunctious Eevee stopped in their tracks. One tumbled off the ladder. Two giggled.
I cleared my throat once more.
"Lyra, Makita," I said with a glance at the two Eevee at the end of the room near the sea, "don't fight in this house, you could get hurt!" I said with clear asperity. Lyra, who was a twinge lighter than her other siblings, gave a tiny nod. Makita pouted, but nodded.
"Rubie, Mikie," I said, glancing at the two Eevee with Oran Berry bits in their fur, "go wash up. And no throwing food." I added, glancing at the two as they lolled up the stairs. Did Mikie roll her eyes?
"Don't go up the ladder without my permission, you three." Cleo, Celena, and Jacki nodded.
"And Sunny, Flutter, please be careful going up the walkway. It's very steep. Now are you hurt?"
Sunny scraped her paw on the grass. "No..." she said, glancing at Flutter, who shrugged and bounded upstairs.
I crossed the room to the other walkway to make sure the Eevee were okay.
Rubie and Mikie had drawn a bath, Lyra was puttng a bandage on Makita's paw, and the others had taken a nap in their rooms.
I jogged downstairs and watched the turquoise waves for a long while, thinking... Remembering. Remembering how in the Town Square I had picked up the gaggle of Eevee out of sympathy. They were found in the forest, barley alive. I nursed them back to health, and, since I had one of the biggest houses in the town, I had adopted them. They were practically inseperable. I never expected it to be quite this hard, though. Especially with the house, and how it was unsafe. But they really seemed to like me, trust me. I was proud of myself for that.
A rustle behind me drew my attention away from the waves. A wet pair of Eevee picked their way downstairs, fur dripping.
"You guys...." I started, but Rubie interrupted me.
"Sorry, I forgot to take the towels from the clothesline outside." she said quickly.
I sighed, got up, and followed them to the rope ladder. I climbed outside after them. I couldn't quite trust them outside. Who knows what they'll do. Mikie jumped up to the clothesline to grab a towel. It plopped on her head, making her fall. Rubie giggled as a ruffled Mikie poked her head out from the folds of the towel, frowning.
"This stupid towel!" she said as she tumbled out of it, hitting my legs. I couldn't help but laugh, too.
The three of us lounged by the edge of the middle room, peering at the shimmering waves through the Sharpedo's scraggly teeth. Mikie and Ruby took to throwing pebbles that they had grabbed outside over the edge and counting the seconds it took for them to plop into the water. The record held by Rubie was fourteen. Soon the others came to see what we were doing. We all ended up dragging our nests from our rooms and smushing them up to the teeth as well. Flutter and Celena giggled as I made impressions of the uppity mayor and some of the other shopkeepers and townsfolk. Makita snoozed at the end of the rock by sunset. I got up to fetch a blanket for her. I laid it on her and dragged her nest to the far side of the room, at the foot of the siblings' walkway. I pulled the see- through pink curtain I had bought.
"Hey, Skye..." Jacki said from my right as I returned to the others. I turned to her. "What's up?" I ask.
Jackie sighed deeply before saying, "What if our mom comes looking for us?"
I was caught by surprise, and I had never thought of the answer myself.
What would happen to me if the Eevee sisters were picked up?
Surely any mother who would abandon her daughters didn't deserve to have them back.
What would I do without them?
I sighed. The Eevee had now focused their attention on me.
"I... I really love you guys, you know." I started. Sunny blushed, Cleo smiled with the others.
"I wouldn't want to let you go." I said, my voice sincere.
"R- really?" Cleo asked, looking hopeful.
"Of course!" I said, resting my chin on her head. "Why would I lie?"
Makita stirred, her fur rising and falling rythmically.
Celena hopped on my back. "That means a lot!" she said, tumbling off and landing on timid Jacki.
Jacki giggled and squeezed herself next to me.
Rubie sprinted away and, a second later, Makita was up, stretching.
"Sorry, I hadn't realized I fell asleep." Lyra laughed and bounded to Makita. "That's okay!" she said. "Here, lemme show you something!"
The two jogged to the cliff edge and started throwing more pebbles over the edge. "See, you have to throw them really far so they can spend all their time trying to fly than trying to fall. Try to beat fifteen seconds!"
Makita threw with her good paw and was able to reach seventeen.
The next morning, I made the girls their favorite- mashed Oran Berry stew with herbs. I glanced at the time- 6:49. I snuck up the ladder to the Town Square, aiming to return by 7:15, when they woke up. I greeted Shade the Mightyena and Zepp the Charmeleon as I speedwalked to the square. I turned into the Kecleon shop and chose their finest herbs, and picked up nine bars of white chocolate as a surprise. Sure it costed a bit, but these guys needed a treat.
I landed right at the foot of the ladder just as a ringing was heard. I sprinted to the small shelf to my right and put the chocolate in the blue vase just as Makita and Rubie appeared at the doorway.
"Hey Skye, what's for breakfast?" Makita asked, peering over my shoulder as I added the herbs into the stew and turned the flame to simmer.
"Your favorite! Oran stew!" I said.
Rubie grinned. "When's it ready, when's it ready?" she asked, shaking her tail.
I hesitated, glancing at the mashed berries. "Hm... Five minutes at most." I said.
Cleo and Flutter turned into the kitchen.
"Now, you four, please set the table." I said. Cleo groaned. "How come we have to?" I rolled my eyes. Flutter giggled and dashed to the cupboard to get some plates with Rubie.
Lyra, Mikie, Celena, Sunny, and Jacki wiped the table together and we sat down to eat.
"How'd you make this so good?" asked Lyra, glancing at me. "It tastes... Sweet and salty!" she said. Sunny nodded. "But whatever it is it's good!" she added brightly as she took another bite.
I was flattered. "Glad you like it."
Since Autumn was on it's way, I decided to get the girls scarves, to keep them warm. So after breakfast we walked to the town square. I found a good deal on a pack of scarves and boots.
"Stay warm! Beat the cold!" Johnny the Chatot said as we approached his stand. Lyra favored the light blue stripes, purple for Makita, red for Rubie, pink for Mikie, black polka dots for Cleo, snowy white for Celena, green for Jacki, yellow checks for Sunny, and orange for Flutter. I didn't realize they all had such different tastes when it came to clothes.
I waited outside for Lyra, Mikie, and Celena to get done putting the clothes in the closets so we could continue shopping.
Remembering the chocolate, I sailed downstairs after the three were done and passed it out to the Eevee.
They ate it happily as we bounded through towns and shops, looking at the things on sale for adventuring Pokemon like Insomniscopes and Reviver Seeds. Soon we came to the center, where a crowd of Pokemon were gathered. We found a Ninetails, looking desperate, holding a photo of....
The Eevee siblings.
She looked very worried.
"And, I just couldn't... I- I'm so sorry!" she was saying.
The mayor, Torkoal, patted her back.
Then she looked right at us. I gasped.
"T- there they are!" she said, speedwalking towards us. She seemed almost to push me aside as her green eyes focused on her daughters. "Oh, I've missed you so! My, you've grown!" she said. The sisters all looked as confused as I was. I guess the didn't remember their mother.
I glared at the Ninetales. She wore a luxurios velvet scarf and fancy boots. I figured she must have a good job, because she didn't look like the Dungeon type.
The crowd departed as the Ninetales turned to me. "Thank you for taking care of them, thank you!"
With a flourish, she gathered up the still baffled Eevee.
"What about their things?" I started as she started to walk.
"We'll send for them. Now say goodbye, darlings!" she said.
Lyra flying- tackled me, and the others followed suit, even Jacki.
"We'll miss you!" Flutter said as she was whisked away.
And that was the last I saw of those rambunctious Eevee sisters.
Now I am an old Absol, with pictures of those Eevee sisters on my wall, the curtain to their walkway permanently drawn.
Sometimes, basking in the moonlight, looking at the turquoise waves, I find myself throwing pebbles off the edge of the cliff, thinking.
Remembering a time when I would cook Oran Berry stew.
Remembering when I last saw those little darlings- it was just too short a time.
Soon the season got colder, and my memories were lost, leaves in the wind.
Suddenly, I heard a loud thump. Then another.
A flash of blue.
A streak of black.
I turned around to see a mish- mosh of Pokemon near the ladder.
A Vaporeon.
A Glaceon.
A Flareon.
An Eevee.
Another Eevee.
An Umbreon.
An Espeon.
A Jolteon.
A Leafeon.
Who were they?
I noticed sparkles, on their fur. The two Eevee came to me first, each wearing a white stone around their neck that the others didn't have.
"Remember us?" asked the first. "I'm Flutter, remember?" Flutter smiled and nuzzled me.
The second Eevee came. I noticed she had bright red eyes, like fire. "And I'm Mikie! You've gotta remember me!" she said, lying down at my other side.
Next came a Flareon. "It's me, Rubie!" she said. "The cool one!" she said, sitting next to me and wrapping her tail around her paws, embers crackling off her pelt.
A Glaceon and a Vaporeon came to me next. The Glaceon smelled of herbs. She dipped her head. "I'm Makita, the one who..." she blushed. "The one who likes to fight." she said, smiling as she lay down next to Rubie.
"And I'm Lyra." The Vaporeon smiled warmly at me. "I loved the chocolate you gave us. The white chocolate." she said, laying by Mikie.
I was a twinge scared. Who were these Pokemon? Why were they here?
A Jolteon came next. "I'm Sunny. I used to love your cooking!" she said, showing a dazzling smile and she sat by Lyra.
I was dumbstruck, so I stayed quiet, watching their fur glow.
"And I'm... Jacki." said the Leafeon, dipping her head. Her voice sounded faint. "I never got the chance to say goodbye and for that, I am sorry." she said as she too sat down.
Then, the last two Pokemon came. An Espeon and an Umbreon. "I'm Cleo. I really like the night!" she said, grinning as her yellow rings glowed.
"And I'm Miss Celena, the one who likes exploring." she said, dipping her head.
Now I was really scared.
"W-where am I?"
"You're at our house!" Rubie piped up.
Then I noticed it- Everything was fading, slowly but steadily.
The others looked grim, but they still cuddled up to me like I was their mother.
"Goodbye, Skye." said Lyra and Mikie.
"Goodbye, Skye." said Jacki and Makita.
"What... Where-" I started
"Bye bye, Skye!" said Cleo and Sunny.
"We'll miss you, Skye." said Rubie, Celena, and Flutter.
"We love you!" they said in unison as everything turned white.
I never woke up again.

This was excellent as always but....
Some critique:
I kind of lost track of the number of Evee. And, pokemon would never own clocks, curtains, or boots. Scarvves maybe, but not boots. I think the fact that a ninetails just sort of said 'Yup! That's my Evees.' With like, no proof is a bit distracting. Oh, and you may want to point out that Skye is an Absol at the beginning... and whether or not she and the others go into dungeons, or how they make their money to buy all the nice things for the sisters... And you say around the end that the Glaceon smelled like herbs, I think you mean Leafeon... right?
INDENT. I know this is just da, but you've still gotta remember to do that. Like I said before, try writing using human characters. (Or mine, I'd commission you but I haven't got the money and my story changes every 8 seconds.) Give some more character to the Evee, I know this was about Skye, but you've still gotta think of them too.
Don't kill me this is just advice, it doesn't mean I don't like the story, I always love you're stories. (I'm serious about the commission thing though, I'd have to tell you my story as a quick summary kind a thing plzpllzplplzpzlzzlzplzlz)
kthxbye

One thing though....did the Eeevee sisters die?
