Two drawings in one day? That's right! This time, is a chubby mermaid. Also just because I felt like drawing one.Also really happy with how she came out, though I did have to redraw the hand quite a few times (and even then it's not exactly how I want it).
Also, during the drawing, I realized mermaids are great practice for learning to draw curves due to the relatively more simplistic nature of a fin compared to legs.

Oh yeah this came out pretty good. I can see that you have been improving with the arms and hands. By the way chubby is a bit of an understatement, but I don't mind. All that extra weight really does enhance her curves. Great job with this drawing.

Thank you! I'm glad you noticed that! That's something I've really been trying to improve on, along with people in general. And the arm is still not quite how I want it either, but I can tell it's a definite improvement over how some of the arms I've drawn in the past are (looking at you, Spring). And yeah, chubby is a bit of an understatement, but don't tell her that. She can live with being called chubby, but she may not like to hear herself be called f-a-t so much lol

Your welcome. The arms look fine to me, but that's good that you want to improve them even more. By the way I noticed some kind of hair on her arm that isn't waving. Be sure to brush off any debris that may get on your drawings.
Also yeah I'll be sure to not call her fat. Especially since mermaids can be dangerous. The funny thing is if I look at her at a bust shot only, like from head to chest, I wouldn't be able to tell if she was all plump.

Oh, I didn't even notice that. I'll make sure to do that, and I'll probably go ahead and retake the picture. I really like double chins (and face chub in general) personally, but I feel like they look weird every time I try to draw them, so I'll see if I can get over that and get more practice drawing them.

Ok, and some advice I can give you on drawing fat faces is to keep the head shape round like a circle, add a curved line near the chin area, and to draw the necks shorter and wider. Another thing you can try is to draw the cheeks a little outward like they're bulging a bit, and don't draw a neck at all.
