So anyway, this is Terrania, Earth Princess and leader of the Earthen Kingdom.

Going along with the naming gimmick (Sun Princess = Celestia, Moon Princess = Luna, etc) because there's a sort of episode mimicking fanfic I'm writing focusing on Twilight and the Mane Six. Yeah, this alicorn is there mainly for lore but I really like her so :S

HISTORY

Terrania-

Her name wasn't always Terrania, but what it once was has been forgotten now. She was once an earth pony, in the times shortly after the fall of Discord, thousands of years ago. Despite the Princess' rule, the land did not heal as they had hoped. It remained barren and desolate, leaving the nation in poverty. Celestia believed that, in time, the land would heal itself, and decided to leave it be. Luna, however, grew angry at her sister's 'laziness,' and took matters into her own hooves, using her magic to force plants to grow. It did not work.

This young earth pony was out in what we now call Everfree Forest, scavenging for what food she could find, when she stumbled into an abandoned dragon's den. She fell through a thin, flaking rock floor into the caverns below.

Something was waiting for her. The spirit of the earth itself, in the form of a young earth pony colt, approached her and greeted her, explaining everything in as vague terms as possible, before a glow enveloped her and she emerged with wings and a horn.

Combining her power with that of the earth's, she began the healing process, and the earth was renewed.

After approaching Celestia with this new... alicorn-ness, Terrania left to invite scores of earth ponies to accompany her down to the caverns to live with her in the Earthen Kingdom. This not only established Terrania's presence in the world, but also lessened the severity of the famine on Equestria.

They established a kingdom successfully and fed off of moss and fish from underground streams. A palace was created in the claw of the dead dragon. It was a really big dragon.

PERSONALITY-

Terrania understands the necessity of what she does- but she is still bitter at the loss of her family and friends, bitter at the loss of her mortality. She requested that Celestia hide away her civilization forever, and therefore very few ponies know of her. Those that do and try to spread the word are laughed off.

She is very no-nonsense and businesslike, very rarely showing any kinds of emotion. She has a tendency to use her hooves instead of magic to do things such as eat, as if to 'fit in' with her earth pony subjects.

THE EARTHEN-

A kingdom of nothing but earth ponies, feeding off of underground mosses and fish. They are generally more muscular than other creatures, lacking in diplomatic skills but making up for it in blacksmithing. They have an affinity for the dark and enclosed spaces. While stubborn and very tradition-oriented, they are not outright hostile and are generally easygoing. However, personalities vary from pony to pony, obviously.

Most Earthen hold an undying loyalty for their Princess, most of all their Guard Captain.
