It was tricky to decide which revolutionaries to choose from. In the end I chose these three; namely because one hardly sees Joan of Arc, Karl Marx, and Gandhi in the same picture, and because unlike fellows like Robespierre or Stalin, they themselves didn't execute acts of merciless brutality.Related content

decided to stick with just the three portaits. among the other candidates were Martin Luther King, Lenin, Moses, and Louis Riel. I must admit I had not thought of old Thomas Jefferson.
