Description Science Lesson
Axis x Reader

I am the country of Slovakia, Hungary’s niece, cousin of the German brothers, and major fangirl of grizzly bears.

It was a normal day at Miss Hungary’s house. Germany, Prussia, Italy, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein came over. All the older countries were talking about their economic issues and Liechtenstein and I were in my room and playing with each other’s hair.

It was time for Liechtenstein to go, but Mister Italy begged Mister Germany if I could tag along. Mister Italy said we were going to be best friends and that we were going to see the rest of the Axis and Allies.

I first met Mister Japan. He was very quiet and it looks like he’s reading a book backwards… I read over his shoulder quietly and I only saw pictures, but the words were kind of weird… Then I met Mister America (he’s really loud, but he’s really fun), Mister England (he’s really strict and he offers me “scones”), Mister France (one of Mister Prussia’s friends), Mister Canada (he’s really nice, I like him), Mister China (Hello Kitty fanboy), and Mister Russia (he’s really nice, but I don’t understand why people are so afraid of him…).

It’s been several weeks since I met them. On some occasions, the countries would “babysit” me while Miss Hungary and Mister Austria were away. It was really fun when Russia, Canada, and Italy came to babysit. We would play lots of games, and read stories, and all kinds of stuff!

~time skip 8 years later~

One day, I decided to go to train with the Axis. After the strenuous training was over, Mister Italy wanted to drive me home. Mister Germany immediately objected because he said that Italy drives too recklessly. Japan said that Germany will take the driver’s seat and educate Italy, passenger seat, and I, back seat.

Mister Germany started the engine and drove off. Simultaneously while driving, he pointed out several things: gas pedal, brakes, steering wheel, speed, velocity, acceleration, and deceleration. I already knew what the gas pedal, brakes, and steering wheel where for; but I didn’t understand what speed, velocity and acceleration had to do with driving.

“You’ve taken physics, haven’t you?” Mister Germany asked. “Yes, I have, Mister Germany.” I replied.
“Speed,” said Germany “is simply distance divided by time. Right now, we’re traveling 120 kilometers per hour. Velocity is speed in a certain direction, so our current velocity is 120 kilometers West. And acceleration is the final velocity subtracted by the initial velocity, divided by time. So if we started with a velocity of 80 kilometers per hour and our velocity now is 120 kilometers per hour, and it took us 20 minutes to get from point A to point B, our acceleration is…” He waited for our response.

“Germany, this is too hard!” Mister Italy complained, “You have to subtract and divide and figure out your values, this is too confusing!” “It’s really simple actually. Our final velocity, 120 km/hr, minus our initial velocity, 80 km/hr, is 40 km/hr. It took us 20 minutes to get from point A to point B, so 40 divided by 20 is 2 km/hr squared!” I exclaimed “You learn something every day!”

“But aren’t they all the same thing?” Italy asked. “Nein,” Germany replied, “would you like to tell me why, Miss Slovakia?” “Speed is how fast something is going. Velocity is speed in a certain direction. And acceleration is the difference of velocities over time.” I answered. “Correct.” Mister Germany said sternly.

“But I still don’t get it…” said Italy. “You’ll get it some day. Physics are confusing.” I said with a smile
