Description Didn't do much in that space, was too busy doing other (nonproductive) things back home. Ironic, I spent a month justifying that sitting on my ass mentally screaming at other people online was. But hey it was cathartic.

(From left to right, top to bottom)
1) From a comic posted earlier
2) A previous sketch of another post , before doing tinier adjustments on the anatomy and whatnot.
3) An unfortunate unfinished piece for one group prompt, also an odd attempt to the artsy symbolism crap I used to do a lot in high school. Hopefully will get this done soon.
4) Something on the silly side. Cause Rena's a textbook version of 'workaholic', and all this time he doesn't know the strange source of heat he feels from time to time was because she's been using him as a tablet-rest.
5) WIP of another group-activity AMA
6) Another sleep-themed doodle. Actually want to come up with some background story to this at some point.

Oh my god the hands, the hands are sooo beautiful *cries* , random man on the left in sketch three should be a hand model!
And Rena needs to be seperated from her tab, I imagine this huge beam of light streaming around the room as she plays on Farmville or whatever lol
I laughed at the "learned this in a film" comment, yeah they're the font of knowledge
Hooray for a group couch nap! They were watching the most boring film in humanity

Ahaha. It's a shame he didn't consider going to that path, could've been much safer, but nooo you choose other things.

There's a few things you can't pull Rena away from, unfortunately this is one of them. Luckily enough she hasn't come to know about game apps and whatnot, it's bad enough that she started reading on them, but at least no one knows what trashy romance novel she's reading this time. Though I could imagine a massive beacon whenever she uses her laptop, how anybody could sleep past that and her loud typing escapes me.

But who knew watching a movie about dinosaurs had applicability in real life? Sure they're not necessarily lizards but it's about the equal amount of violence and prehistoric behaviour to go about. Makes good practice for Tony IF he were to have more kids though.

Boring movies are the best way to wind down! But I'd imagine it's tough to watch certain kinds of movies in them. You can't get past any action/spy/crime film without somebody criticising the feasibility. Maybe that's what happened,

He wanted to be a tough-guy in a fancy suit playing high-stakes games in dangerous social circles instead.

Oh but reading on your tab and phone really hurts your eyes Rena!  Even if you can store over 100 titles on there! Lol they do if they choose to "browse" her tab - although as it is probably difficult to get out of her hands I imagine that's impossible

She should get a jellymat to put on her keyboard, it works to deaden some of the loud typing, I got one partly for that reason!

Who indeed! Lol I had no idea Tony's kids were dinosaurs...though i imagine a lot of parents would say that about theirs
"Ugh I gotta go, the veloceraptors are jumping on the couch locked in mortal combat" - he's talking about Dante and Chace - though Chace would be that dino that spits acid.

and the criticism went on and on and on - that's part of the fun though of watching crappy action films!

Nobody's tried, but she gets enough ribbing whenever she reads the paperbacks. Don't know to what extent is her eye sight affected (nobody would know until she'd walk into a wall or something), but staying up has given her enough panda eyes go to on. Thankfully there's makeup to hide that.

Lol, probably so. I have one too, but it seems if I type with a jellymat, I type harder which just makes almost an equal amount of noise. But then, I'm an emotive typer

Well he's only got one daughter, who puts up less of a hassle compared to the fully grown adults he works with (though he's older than most of them). But I love that line, it's probably what he would say if he has to excuse himself from something, even in front of his wife. Pfft, cause a dinosaur that can't handle itself in a fight needs something else as a defence mechanism.

Or any bad movie. It's always got potential to be a game if people are bored

She should punish them by locking them in a room and reading out the steamy love-scenes - or getting THEM to read them. It's a team-building exercise! yeah...I can attest to the panda eyes, only with me it's just one eye that's the panda for some reason...so it looks like i have a black eye

I think you might be right about that actually, my jellymat is almost dead and I do end up hammering on the keys, but then again I'm heavy handed anyway so it could just be how I normally type *hammers key through the centre of the earth* - but at work when I use my laptop it works to deaden the sound, otherwise I think people would go insane lol

Lol, that's right, stun them and leave them wondering what you mean "Veloceraptors?" *makes an escape*
That's so true!  Dinosaurs were basically walking warriors or tanks

It does!  Although there's always one person who gets grumpy and upset that you're making fun of the film while they're engrossed "hey don't make fun, if you don't like it then leave!" *goes silent...for two seconds before the urge to comment on that horrific scene grows too much*

I feel a mighty need to draw that now. That's a whole new level of cruel and unusual punishment. Could imagine her purposely getting the really bad ones and read them while standing in front of the only escape, or to whomever is too injured to run when they see her coming.

Haha, as long you don't break the keyboard, you'll be fine Jellymats are also prone to distortion, mine doesn't sit flat on my keyboard anymore. But then I game on it and that ruins things too. But I think it also depends what sort of keyboard you have, I know some (though these are desktop keyboards) that are designed to make the most obnoxiously loud clicks. Imagine that used by somebody who types very quickly.

No one would ever figure it out. But not all of them, what about those little ones? Though you're right though, even if it can't eat you, it'd probably just kill you by accidentally stepping on you or something.

Naww, that's true, the risks of party poopers. Unless there's a way to silence them *throws pillows*.

Like Twilight...
she visits them in hospital when they can't move, that is so mean!

I haven't yet lol.  My jellymat has a little kink in it, and the spacebar has a patch rubbed out of it where my thumb hits it.
Lol the one on my pc at work must be one of those, it's really amplified so I try to slow down and type like, one finger at a time in a hush

The little ones are deadly in packs, they're stealth machines - or like the Loot Midgets in Borderlands...
I'm so glad dinosaurs are extinct

Or worse. Probably 50 Shades or Grey when she's feeling like Satan's incarnate. I found a website dedicated to incredibly horrible excerpts and I intend to use them!

Well the CIA did write the manual on interrogation and torture. She'd disconnect the nurse's call button so no one can stop her. She does this the most to Dante (for whatever reason he did to deserve that), and if any nurse would come by and check she'd just play the concerned girlfriend like nothing ever happened.

That one point over my spacebar has the exact issue. Loud keyboards are only enjoyable when alone (or around people too focused to care).  Lol, the good ol' 't-rex technique'. My dad types like that and it never gets old to watch.

I know right. And if anybody dare suggests it, there are 4 movies to show why it's a BAD idea. Loot midgets…I mean I get excited at the chance of getting stuff but jeez they're so frustrating. I've once opened some boxes and had to fight off three. Luckily I had enough time to throw both turrets.

That was going to be my second suggestion!  I haven't read it, nor do I want to, but I'm curious as to WHY you would be searching for extracts lol - hopefully for this purpose alone

"Nothing unusual going on in here Nurse, I'm just the concerned girlfriend" *squeezes out a tear or two to make it appear genuine* - that way if Dante asks for her to be thrown out he'd look like the callous ass and not her

That's true, there's something satisfying about the massive Ka-KOW when you hit it.
that's my dad too.

Exactly! The first time I saw one, I had no idea where it even came from...until I realised it jumped out of a locker - then my twin found one (because we play as a team and she has this habit of...running off to where I can't keep an eye on her) and she was like "what is this  thing!  Why is it taking forever to die!".  Personally I think the midget loaders are too adorable, and the midget goliaths are funny, the regular midgets just scare me

I read bits of the original version (as in when it was still fanfiction) and felt a strong need to throw up. Have I mentioned I'm not the brightest lightbulb in the box? But I was looking for really bad excerpts for this idea only. It just became an entertaining form of procrastination, and wtf-ing at how people write 'romance'. I've seen better work online than the stuff that gets published.

She can cry on command, and no one ever wants to be left alone with a bawling wreck. Though it's not that hard to make him look like some jerk-ass, unlike some he can't talk his way out of things. If he ever succeeded getting her kicked out, she'll just put some other disguise and walk right back in.

Hitting the spacebars and enter/return keys are the best.

My brother's like that. Next to shoot any potentially explosive object around (even when we're right next to him). "Why is it taking forever to die" pretty much summarises loot midgets. I agree with the other midget forms (chubby enemies are adorable too), I spend too much time going 'aww' at them. Maybe it's the masks? I don't know, they just have that look.

Lol, that just goes to show you how popularity can propel something to fame even if its trash.  I'll admit I probably have been guilty of writing bad romance (I admit it!) but I never thought it was seriously good lol

Wow, that's a brilliant skill to have!  This woman has talent!  And wow again, just give up and suffer through it Dante, it's so much easier facing the inevitable

Yeah you have to hit it with flourish and ceremony. "BAM - new word. BAM - new line. BAM - delete""

My sister made that mistake plenty of times when we played the first Borderlands - however in no. 2 they made the barrels a whole lot more obvious (frankly it disappointed me lol, I liked spotting which were explosive and which were just environment blocks).  They are indeed tough!  And fast too, but the worst is that they're tiny so if you're looking down a scope they're gone far too quickly lol.  I think they're cute because of the sped up voices too lol.  They were much scarier in number 1 though!  But not as scary as those badass psychos with the tiny stunted little arm

Oh hey, I haven't seen half of these! I think it's still productive and hey, lazy time at home is good for you sometimes too!!

The sleeping one is my favourite, so adorable! And it just occurred to me that maybe you could try cell-shading or crosshatching instead of that painterly overlaying shading sometime? Could be fun!

And I'm super curious about the third one too! I need to start doing more group prompts again...

ExplosiveCoffee In reply to Oly-RRR [2015-08-06 01:11:33 +0000 UTC]

Lol, everybody needs a cool down period at every now and then, but in retrospect, a month virtually on the same routine was amazingly bad, I didn't know how I did it

I was quite fond of that one, wanted something warm-fuzzies. It's something they have done after a long day, when they're all too tired to complain at one another. Luckily nobody's seen them like this, aside from whoever wakes up first. Though that also depends if they are under the pile of sleeping people or not, lol.

Actually, I was intending to do some sort of cell-shading for that one. I've yet to find some way of cell-shading that works, because it always end up all painterly and whatnot.

You shall see~ someday Well there's no rush/pressure to get those prompts done, these things need the right sort of motivation to do them

Hot weather maybe? We had a REALLY hot weekend, I did next to nothing, I still feel guilty...

Yeah, trying new styles is both fun and tricky!

And yeaaah, motivation! I'm hoping to do the next Dare but haven't got the perfect idea yet (it'll show up at the eleventh hour as usual). But I found a terrific ask meme I want to try soon!

Perhaps, it was around the mid 30s when I was home. Add some humidity and it feels even worse. BUT we could at least say the weather really did have something to do with it, no need to feel guilty about things we didn't have a direct involvement in

Yeah, I saw the dare too, got a couple of ideas, but I'm in the midst of figuring out something stupid as a costume. Though I'll keep an eye out for that meme then

MID 30S HOW DO YOU DO IT It's been 31 C here on Sunday and around 28-29 since then and it makes barely functional. On the upside according to the weather site it'll get colder in a day or two and it's August so it can't last long either way... And yeah, blaming stuff on the weather is great!

SOON I'm trying to finish a trade (see my whinging about the weather and being slow) and not posting anything else before that is done because I'd feel too guilty!

CAUSE I'M AWESOME. No, not really, I was born and raised in tropical climates, I'm kinda used to it. Though none of that is useful at all where I am at the moment. It just snowed for the first time in Canberra since 9 years and I'm dying.

Oh I know that feeling. Always feel like it's in politeness and consideration that the stuff you owe should be given priority, lol.

Lol, I'll keep that in mind. Pfft, it started going all-out sunny the next day.
