Brett shook his head, gritting his teeth. Gazing into Druid’s crimson eyes, he choked out sobs. “You... you can’t leave me...” he sobbed loudly, then did the unthinkable. He lurched forward, pausing for merely a second and pressing his lips again Druid’s cheek. Druid frowned, closing his eyes lightly. Brett had changed his course right before coming in contact with Druid. Brett was going to kiss him. Dammit. Brett pulled away, shaking as he clutched the silverette’s chest. Just then, Jennifer and Ryan opened the door, staring wildly at the two boys holding each other, crying. Rain had started to pound against the outside of the house and against the glass, making the sun haze over into dark clouds. “Brett? Drake... w-what’s wrong...?” Jennifer said quietly, as the two walked into the room. Druid released Brett, taking a step back. Tears were boiling in his eyes, Brett could see it, but he didn’t release them. “I... I have to go.” he whispered hoarsely, this affecting him immensely as his voice cracked. Brett frowned, taking a step towards him. “Please, don’t go!” he cried, his lip quivering as tears rolled down his cheeks. “I have to.” Druid whispered, jogging to the window and opening it. He jumped out into the rain, and in a second, he was gone. Brett looked down, and his strength couldn’t hold anymore. He was so emotionally drained, he fell down to his knees, sobbing recklessly into his hands. His father and stepmother came up, crouching a each placing a hand on his shoulder and back. “Brett... Sweetie... What...” Jennifer whispered, before holding him tightly. Ryan closed the window, locking out the rain with a muffled roll of thunder. “Druid... Druid... Please... come back... Druid...” he whispered, closing his eyes tightly. Both his father’s and stepmother’s eyes were on him now, clearly remembering the name from that night. They stared at Brett for a second, and Ryan crouched down. “Drake’s name isn’t really Drake... Is it?” he asked quietly, looking down on his crying son. Brett didn’t say anything, just sniffed. “You weren’t just friends... Were you?” Ryan whispered, and still, Brett said not a thing. He didn’t even know himself... That pathetic kiss on the cheek had just been for... Well... He had no idea why he kissed Druid. It was quite chaste, but, still. He had no clue how he felt about the silver haired vampire that was once his best friend. “I...” Brett whispered, after regaining his voice. He stood slowly, out of Jennifer’s embrace, and ran. He ran to the front door, and out the road. “Brett!” he heard his father yell, but ignored him. Druid wasn’t leaving him so easy. No, he had two days... And he was spending them with Brett whether he liked it or not. He arrived at the cemetery, the rain soaking him. But it didn’t matter, as he ran through the graves and to the mausoleum. He opened the stone quickly, and to his relief, found Druid and Vladimir sitting together on the floor, admiring a notebook and multiple newspaper clippings together. “Druid!” Brett called, tackling him into a hug. He saw Vladimir smile from the corner of his eyes, and look to Druid. “You’re staying with me! Until you have to leave, you’re going to stay with me!” he said, looking up at his friend. Druid smirked lightly, then, once again quoting himself, whispered, “Apology accepted.” He wrapped his arms around Brett with a smile, holding him tightly. “Druid... You and him... You can’t ever separate. I’ll.... I’ll try to talk to the Conclave. Me being a council member... I can try.” Vladimir suddenly spoke up, his voice cracking a bit. Brett grinned wide, then let go of Druid to hug Vladimir tightly. “I swear, Vladimir, if you can get him to stay, I will discard every time you have tried to eat me or ever will!” he yelled, hugging him happily. Vladimir chuckled darkly, “Good. I’ll make sure to convince them, then.” he gently pushed Brett away, then nodded to Druid. “You should be hugging him.” he grinned, then slinked from the mausoleum. Brett smiled to Druid. “You heard him”.
