Oh, I see~ Regardless, it looks great. I really should get some sleep if I can't tell the difference between actual ink & pen and RGB...

The Dragon Preists were Nords, not Dunmer. They weren't even Dunmer yet, at that point they would have been the Chimer.

Nowhere in this image or the description did I ever claim the dragon priests were dunmer or any other form of mer, did I?
However, in the game, you can obtain the masks of the dragon priests you slay and equip them. Which, in my playthrough, is how my dunmer got hers, as pictured in the piece.

Krosis means "sorrow" and is the name of a Dragon Priest, as well as the mask he wears (which you can loot from him when you kill him).

Yes, because sorrow is an emotion which can, in a primitive sense, be applied to grief, regret or being apologetic or something. The Dovah language in Skyrim is not terribly advanced and the vocabulary is rather limited.
Obviously, the dragon priests took words from the Dovah language of their masters which they felt suited their positions or motivations and used them as their aliases. Much like how people will take adjectives, verbs and nouns that don't necessarily apply to them in any real sense to use as handles on the internet.
