And that's the truth! O_O (Just making a statement :3 )Lalala *rushrushrush* and yes, "MLE" is me, if you didn't already know that. I chose Near to be in this one because... he's very critical? I don't know. I just wanted to draw the stupid duck.
Anyway, I got the second part of the idea about Mello after being SPAMMED from the TV with commercials about buying chocolates and diamonds for v-day and how "YOU MUST BUY CHOCOLATES OR ELSE HE/SHE WILL HATE YOU FOR LIFE AND DUMP YOU ON VALENTINES DAY. YOU DON'T WANT THAT DO YOU?! THE GOVERNMENT WOULDN'T WANT THAT." I mean--- Well. You get the point. I hope. Unless you're in denial or something.
I'm one of those people who believe that Love is a stupid "emotion" basically caused by the chemicals in our bodies to tell us to mate and breed and make with the offpsring. Buuuut I guess, as humans, we all want to make it seem special and not have it portrayed just as an "animal instinct". I can rant all day about this. ANYWAY Enjoy your hallmark holiday! I'm going to enjoy my CHINESE NEW YEARS. You know, a holiday WITHOUT Hallmark influence. And you get free money

Okay thats it. I think Mello would just plain love almost every holiday. xD I fhe was married and had kids, they would probably get hm chocolate. If it was christmas, it would either be chocolate coal, or chocolate toys or something. If it was Easter. GIANT EASTER EGG. t goes on and on with the holiday possibilities for this cutie. lol

I guess one reason Valentine's Day pisses me off is because it's too close to my birthday... >_< Stop stealing my birthday from me damn it! Okay I need to say that your pictures and comics are awesome... I hope you know that... And yeah... I've been looking through all your stuff. Amusing-ness.
But in all seriousness........
I hate Valentine's Day for some those reasons, but also have completely different reasons. But I won't rant about those. And um.... I hope that you actually will read this, and please don't take anything I said in some offensive way, because I do like and respect you as a person. It's just that my initial reason for having to comment on this particur piece was actually to express some strong emotional distress over some of the comments from people here, and from you stating in your description that you believe "love" to simply be an "emotion" only caused by the instinct for people to mate/breed.
Well, just seeing all the people concurring in this, that "Love" is either something that is bad, a non-existent concept, or a thing that exists solely for the purpose of reprodcution (or all of the above)..... I've been officially traumatized for tonight... Because I know that's not true, and am sad and scared for people who feel this way..... I really do have too much to say, and I'm sorry, I can't force myself to smash it. The main reason I became unusually upset is something personal, but I do feel compelled to be honest and share it anyway: I know my soul purpose for being alive right now was to help people, in various ways, but mainly by helping them to realize how important it is to truly love themselves, and others. It is probably the most valuable lesson of all. If more people prioritized things like love, understanding, honesty and empathy, it would genuinely help the world. (Actively using your mind freely and utilizing different perspectives is also necessary too, but you already seem to know that very well. People just don't seem to be interested in "learning" from anything anymore.)
Also seeing how many people in our backwards American culture just have innate anger or hatred for even the word "Love" itself, is so... unsettling. Am I going to be heard or am I just going to be crucified? Wisdom seems to be an unknown word here... And no one gives a rat's ass about anyone else because it's a competetive society, mostly run by rich egotistic leaders who keep us subtly brainwashed, llocked in the same patterns of thinking and therfore mired in the same destructive cycles... Including those of which may be the very doom of Earth. Many humans lost their love and respect for nature, too.
...Lack of loving-aspects in the world is the main source of our many horrifying and unnecessary problems... People end up replacing love with ego because they don't know the difference, and that is never an acceptable substitute because ego is actually what promotes things like ignorance, hate and fear. I have written about this topic at least a few times, and I could (and probably will, hopefully soon) write books on this topic.... and many other topics. I mean no disrespect to you whatsoever. And I apologize. I just also felt compelled to begin this rant because of how much these very subjects have affected me in my own lifetime, the people that I know and love. Though I think it would absolutely shock and confuse people if I told them this, it is a fact: My lover would have become a criminal, most likely a murderer if we hadn't met when we did. Again, the source was from lack of loving aspects. No love had been shown to him in his life. I would continue to explain this in more depth but then this comment really would start to be a book because I would never stop... ::.Twitches.:: I just need to show people what goes on, and that Love exists and is desperately needed... it is of the absolute greatest importance if we want to stop the chaos we are inflicting.
Both myself and twinflame lover want you to at least hear that, too, whether or not you agree with anything I say. But our relationship has never been based on anything physical... Ever. (In fact we only ever had a long-distance relationship for the first six years.) Not to mention that my lover, a completely straight guy, still would have stuck by me the whole time, even if I turned out to be a gay man! A man *really* has to have BALLS to admit that... Don't you think? ::.Laughs just a little.:: But yeah obviously in the revesed situation, I would stay with him no matter what. And here we are.
After all, Family members, and true friends, are naturally supposed to Love each other. If they don't, then it's extremely dysfunctional. Just look at Elephants for one example in family love/social bonding... Yes, animals can have genuine love too!
