I understand and Cry whenever I think my loved ones like "Conetail Purrkins" brought him form the "cat lady" who had many kittens...when you bring them up from a little nipper, they behave with loyalty~ more so than "scrumpey" who was rude, on the counter and at your heels when there was something to eat~ taken on strays and the heart goes out to those that suddenly disappeared and there was no trace~ we have a cat door, the entire outside of sand around here IS a catbox~ put a cat box full of litter there and they ignored that....cats do not like the smell of poo and try to cover it up~...makes me so sad when they will not clean the box daily...we don't run that with our loved ones~ three of them...whitey (sorta insane, and belligerent) to the little one "brandie" who really does not like to play that way...Lord Fluffington the IInd has golden hair and will start crying if you do not pick her up, stroke and get the contaminants out of her fur~...all can be found in the trees, or on the roof, if it isn't too HOT up there. sunset zone 7 is a toughie...drops down to perhaps 45 at night and may be 101 that same day~ only dry style plants will survive here~ potatoes underground if shielded from the sun some veggies can be grown here, but good water is hard to find as ours seems to be de-methylmercurized and tastes like crap and makes my skin itch...so bottled it is~ at one point had 6 cats~ now there are three...none will pee in the house, poo in the house and are quite well behaved~ that is the way it should be~
