Description
Yet another tattoo commission, this time a celtic dire wolf rampant surrounded by tribal designs. This is the mythical dire, not the prehistoric one (difference: the prehistorics weren't snaggle-toothed or much larger than normal timber wolves). This was originally going to be black and white, but the red just seemed so much more dramatic.I love his mane. He's curly-furred, heh.
Done in Photoshop Elements 4.0, mostly with the lasso tool.

wonderful call and response! Especial favourites included "There was a great big moose" and "Oh you'll never get to checkpoint" which was the D of E version of "oh you'll never get to heaven"
Others included everything from "I'll make a man out of you" (Mulan) to "Don't worry about a thing" (bob Marley)
It was fun

cool, but i don't really understand it that much-we have it at school. I use the lovely, simple and user friendly photoshop elements 6, even thought it doesn't do so much.

thanks....i not that good at all compared to a lot of people. It's slightly depressing when you think you are ok at drawing something and then you come on DA and millions of people are ten time better at it than you. But oh well, it does make you want to improve.

This work is very nice. However the style you're using isn't Gaelic knotwork or any Celtic style I'm familiar with. It's more Dark Ages/Midevil pagentry. Something you would see on a nobles flag or symbol. Still. Very good work and an excellent version with a modern update.

You're right, but the commissioner wanted it this way and I guess this is what she considered gaelic to be. I was basing it off the wolves on coats of arms, albeit with a little more anatomical accuracy.

Well I'm not saying it isn't a great piece. it is a wonderful piece. I guess it's the guys fault for not researching the terminology first.
