Description
Original this commission was just the cheetah, but I was compelled to draw more scenery until I built a whole world for him.So yeah, I kind of like how it turned out.

not just the drawing is really good, but the way you did it is really intersting: particullary I love the lineart, the system you used of making the focus of the image (the character) having a black lineart, and all the rest with a lighter lineart thats color changes with the light from the back, its quite intersting, and an stunning original effect I never saw before.
A well deserved DD both on your skills and originality for the technic. Congratulations for it!.

thank you! I was hoping it would make him stand out more, though in retrospect I probably should've made him a colored lineart too. Black has a tendency to flatten things. I'm actually tempted to redo this piece now as a painting, except it's a commmission.
But there's plenty of aspects to this which I will think about applying to my future work again.

You might have a point, but it also gives it an intersting feeling on its perspective, how you see and feel the depth of the background but the strong black line of the character (I dont really feel it "flattens it" anyway) makes it stand out, more like an sticker that was added upon the original image, which makes it stand out more and adds an intersting visual effect to the picture. The image dosent feel realistic, but anyway it dosent look like the point of this picture: it isnt trying to look realistic, but to stand out with strong visuals.

You have NO idea how much this meant to me. This piece is 2-3 yrs old now, and I rarely like my old work, but seeing this get a DD reminds me of the kinds of things I want to keep doing and what I want to focus on.
I've gotten DDs before, but this one means the absolute most to me. Thank you so much.
