Conceptual art for Lilith, Lamia's [now deceased] companion/guardian/"sister"/lover???This jerk would use Lamia as bait to lure victims, or traded her "friend's" body for favors. She was possibly the hoard leader that kept zombie-Lamia around.

I have to agree with gorgeous and hideous. I tend to have a great admiration for "ugly" critters like flies and reptiles though, so it's not much coming from me. I really love her face and hands, and can imagine how pretty she'd have been before zombification.

wow this design is really really great. I don't usually dig your more gorey/zombie/undead stuff but there is something really striking about this design. it's a great mix of beautiful and disgusting. the gaping holes in the chest really sell it I think.

I needed to demonstrate that Lamia's beauty is an anomaly among the undead. There's zero reason why women would be any better preserved than men in this environment. What's more is I wanted to create a character that had reason to be envious of Lamia (and thus, that much more determined to control/own her). A woman who valued her femininity so highly in life waffling between what she is now, what she wants to be, and what her delusions tell her she is.
Also fun connections between the Lamia and Lilith of legend are just so spectacular. Seriously go look up the origins of Lilith. There's some sweet stuff. Demon mother, lion-head, bird feet and wings. She's got all kinds of crazy crap going on.

Auuugh I love that. Just because they are ladies does not mean they would fare better as zombies than men. Both sexes decompose just the same.

She meets a very unfortunate end like...the next comic after "Sweethearts" but I hope to do some short stories that flesh out Lamia's background so we see what that lady dealt with when she "woke up".
